Come on now you just gotta help a little bit. A pic. of your machine would do wonders.  I just can't recall a button on the processor board on a S+, there is a Blue knob, it's the volume control. On the other hand a S 2000 does have a test button on the MPU.

OK does the processor board have 6 LED lights right below the button in question ??  Guess I goofed the LEDs are above the button.

Thanks very much . Yes thats it. I did not know if it was a  s-2000 or s+.
I bought a new processor board and put the game chips out of the old one into the new board. What will I need to do to reset the game. Before I replaced the processor and the cabinet I/O board the reels were spinning all the time.Hoping this will fix the problem.

Hold on , before you start switching parts put the old board and chips back in the machine. When the reels fail to stop open the main door and just turn the key that's on the outside of the machine.  And if this works and the reels stop, please post the SG ( game chip ) numbers. They will look like SG000***  on the board they are located at U 19 and U 46 an example is SG000363 game 1 and SG000363 Game 2.  I've had a lot of problems with SG000155 and reel tilts.

I'm going to send you a PM with my phone number, call if you feel like it.

I looked at u19 and u46 the number on them is sg000048. The reason I replaced the processor board is because the reel restistor over heated and burnt the board. The cabinet I/O board shorted out. Yes your phone number would be great thanks

That's good...you'll get good help from Buzz...he's a good guy!  yes
Sounds like all you gotta do is set your denomination to a nickel or quarter, etc.etc.
and machine type to an upright or slant.

There's tons of information in the S2000 threads on how to do all of this.

Rick  If you remove the cabinet IO and turn the power on, you will get a "meter disconnect error". So yes I guess you could call them the same thing.

Try this, just lift and lower the main door latch 4 or 5 times.  If a S 2000 has more than one error they will be stacked and are cleared by opening and closing the main door. But only on error at a time is cleared.

I'm attaching a photo. I don't know what this device is called or what it's funciton is, because it is not in my manual. Could it cause a meter disconnected error.

That's the plugs the casino uses for hooking up to their mainframe for sas and security stuff. It will not be the cause of your problem. Generally a meter disconnected error is generated by the cabinet IO board either because the board is bad or because the meters are actually diconnected or bad. Are your accounting meters on the lower right side of the cabinet still there? Plugged in? Bypassed? I had this error once and found the meter board had burned up and killed my cabinet IO board in the process
