 Duh!
hey everyone. heres the story, my fox n hound nvision display slot worked great till i left it turned off for few months, then when i powered it on it gave a bunch of errors that i cant remember but realizing it was probably due to dead motherboard battery. i replaced the battery, fired back up , i noticed after going through reset motions with key on side 4 turns, and holding reset button for 3 seconds it was back to rebooting normally but after the reels would spin it would display: 'video display comm failure'.
how could my display take a crap from a dead battery? a friend told me it probably burned out but i feel like the dead battery caused this and it should resolved. like i said, i replaced the battery, and it seemed like it was booting fine till it hit booting display. then it gives the message.  someones gotta have some experience here please help!  Hail ty & cheers! Tim.
PS. i searched all over this site for an answer before i posted but couldnt find an answer. thx!

It's on the control board inside the top box control unit. Just like your home computer has one

Scratch Head ty for help but would the top box mean above , below, or behind the reels?
The top area behind the glass where the display is shows nothing but the display itself. Ty for help

OK new battery came. I replaced. At bootup it gets past self test and goes to reel spin but then it still displays
'video display comm failure'  afterwards. All connections look fine. This machine was never moved. it just got turned on one day and started doing this. Any other ideas please? Thx so much.
Ps. I just noticed it also displays: MSVERIFY: COMM ERROR

What is the video display itself showing? I know my double diamond run would take about 5 minutes to start when turned on. Are you getting any picture or message on it?

Check the black plug with three grey wires on it to make sure it is plugged in well. It is located on the distribution box behind the hopper in the bottom of the cabinet. These are your communication wires. They also plug into the monitor as well. Picture attached.

unplug the the plug with gray wires and ribbon cable from the box. Turn machine on to see if it is still ticking. If it is still ticking replace it with another. If you can't find a replacement let me know and I can probably find one for you.

Ok i will contact him regarding this part in side the distribution box. Its on the very left side in box. The fuse sits just to the right of it.
Thats where the ticking is coming from. Dont want to touch anything when its powered on but its definitly coming from that board inside in very left side.
