Game King Keno

Which program is "Game King Keno"?
I've seen this version with green glass and a multitude of Keno games.
I have a Game King with a 3902 board and what I believe is the 4.3 version (59 games mostly poker).
What is required to change this to the "Keno" program? Would it be possible to change out the complete mother board tray if I could find another with the "Keno" program?
Any idea what the cost might be to do this if changing the complete mother board tray is a feasible idea along with the glass (I'm interested in the glass anyway for a 13" flat top if anyone has a set)?
I like the program I have but would like to have the option for some other keno games.

If I'm not mistaken you should have 3 keno games on your version of GameKing.  Keno, Four Card Keno, and Caveman Keno.
Version 5.0 has 5 keno games.  Spot Keno, Power Keno, Cleo Keno, Multicard Keno, and Caveman Keno Plus a few video poker games.
Version 5.3 has 3 keno games. Spot Keno, Multicard Keno, and Caveman Keno, Plus a lot of video poker games lot 4.3 has. Whether or not there's a Keno only version I don't know, hopefully one of the other member will chime in. Anyway changing the games is easy. More on this later, cause I'm tired and its midnight were I am at.

The green Keno GK's might be based on 6.x.

Naah, I've seen old GK sets like my 4.x set with the green glass. They're just set up to only display the keno games in the menu (Keno, 4 Card Keno, Caveman Keno, 3-6-9 Keno, Top Bottom Keno, Lightning Keno, and probably one or two other variations that I can't think of off the top of my head).

So what version Gameking has the  3-6-9 Keno, Top Bottom Keno, and  Lightning Keno, in it?

I referring to a machine I saw on craigslist that was a flat top 13" cabinet so I'm guessing it was a 4.x series program. from what I saw it had 2 or 3 slot games on the screen and the rest were keno. I think the post has been pulled so I couldn't tell you which games it showed.
The glass was green and said Game King Keno which leads me to believe there is a specific keno heavy program.

Ok to answer your first question it GameKing 6.1 keno.  I believe that version requires an 044 board.  Just cause the glass says GameKing Keno is irrelevant.  Mine says GameKing Keno and its version 5.3.   What you may have been looking at is version 5.0 which has 3 slot games on it plus 5 keno games.  Once again if you wanted to put in what you saw on craigslist it would be easy to do.

The picture I posted from what I can see has more than 5 keno games. It also has the oval denomination buttons. Am I correct that 5.x and above have the rectangle denomination buttons? If the machine in the picture has a majority of keno games and in a 13" cabinet, could it be an 044 board or a 6.x program or even a 5.x  program due to the oval denom buttons?

Anyway, would like a set of that glass if anyone has a set for sale.

The picture you posted (in Reply #6) is most definitely not GK 6.x.  It is likely 4.x, as it looks awfully similar to mine.

Here are all of the keno games available in GK 4.x:

• Keno
• Four Card Keno
• Super Keno
• Caveman Keno
• Triple Diamond Keno*
• Top Bottom Keno
• 3-6-9 Way Keno
• 2-4-6 Way Keno
• Super Way Keno

* Triple Diamond Keno was, to the best of my knowledge, removed in future versions due to a glitch that allowed players to cheat the game.

For the record, I'm running a 3802 board with "Game program set version" G0000619 .  (Images of my Program Version Display screens here)

Correct.  There was nothing especially special about the software, just the green glass had the word "Keno" printed on it, and the games set up on those machines would typically be only keno games.  I'm aware of at least one casino in Las Vegas that has a couple of banks of the green "keno" glass machines that also have some of the regular GK video poker games enabled on the machines as well.

Anyway, would like a set of that glass if anyone has a set for sale.

Your best bet will be to post in the Classifieds section, as the vendors don't always see every post in the tech support sections.  You'll want to list the exact dimensions of both pieces of glass you're looking for, as there were a lot of different styles/sizes of GK glass made over the years.

4.x and 6.x have the oval denom buttons.  5.x has rectangular denom buttons. 
6.x has 9 Keno games also, but most are extensions of what 5.x doesn't offer...'plus' type games.

Thanks, I may have already posted an ad in classifieds but I will post another request.

In my original post I asked if I can remove the processor tray and replace it with another with a different program, if it was as easy as that,... if I had one. Is that an option? I'd like to be able to make it a simple switch if that's a possibilty.

Also note that 6.x has the "tabs" at the top for the different game type selections (Blackjack/Keno/Slots/Video Poker) as shown in the BettorSlots video that Jason just posted -- 4.x piles them on the same page (if configured to have multiple game types on the same denomination).

Yeah, you can replace a 3802 tray with a different 3802 tray (or a 3902 tray for a 3902 tray) to avoid having to change out all of the chips on the board when doing a game change.  However, you will still encounter errors and may have to tweak settings and/or clear & key each time you change trays, and you will lose any credits you had.

There are a couple of ways to avoid having to do the clear and key each time and retain your previous settings:

1. You can buy some extra EEPROMs for your motherboard ("backplane"), and remove the socketed EEPROM from the motherboard and change it out when you swap trays.  You'll have to configure each tray/EEPROM set once, but then after that the machine will retain the settings (and credits) when you swap sets.  (See this thread for more details.)

2. You can make a slight modification to your 3902 boards and solder an EEPROM on to each board (and remove the one from the motherboard).  This requires soldering skills in a tight area, but it can be done.  Then your game swaps would really be as simple as swapping trays in and out.  (See this thread for the scoop on that method of easy Game King game changes.)
