My opinion, which doesn't amount to much.  Simple truth is a 145 was a piece of crap the day they built it. And today it's still a piece of crap.  Shit can the 145 and replace it with a DBV200.

I agree with Buzz, I have one machine that still has a working
145 but I have a 200 for when it quits.

Thank you everyone, again. I'll try these settings. If it's not working still, I probably will S.C. the unit and get a 200. I assume I can just replace the head part, not the entire unit?

Tried the new settings and got the same results. I even found a 1988 one dollar bill...rejected!
I have a brilliant idea. Since the transport is the same, can I just pop in my DBV 200 from my other s plus?

Just as easy to change the whole thing. But sure they will interchange.

Don't forget a 145 powersupply will not work on a DBV200. 200 powersupply will work on a 145.

By the way, the "bips" really should be a bell sound if you have a bell installed -
I prefer flashing lights and confetti cannons... rotflmao

Bell? Hmmmm...it's been weeks and I just noticed this. I think I may want to put a bell in this machine, after I get the scrolling display in and after I get the damn BV to work! (POSTED in DBV section now! I'm having trouble with the new used DBV 200 now)
Do you have a link for the bell install? I guess I better do all those other things first though.

Believe me ...you don't want to install a bell...they are waay too loud!  no
ANYways, if you really want one...just place a WTB ad in the classifieds for a bell with the two wire harness.
I'm sure someone will throw it on your front lawn.
They can't get rid of them.

Update on my "latex" slot machine: I've posted the .\"before and after" latex shots...it looks great now. I finally attacked the BV problem, which I posted details in the BV forum. The slot is now completely operational! I did have to do a ram clear and reset again and that got the DBV200 (bought recently) working. And since I really wanted this nickel machine to take $1's only, I put the old DBV145 back in and....it works!
The other interesting thing is that the option to have cash/credit button came to life. I wanted that to work but it wouldn't initially. The option is even written on the front glass (I don't see that in many S plus's) and I think it's fun to play once in a while and have the cash just dump out each time ... of course, this is when I could use that BELL!  Cry Laughing (I remember playing at the Pioneer in Lauglin not too long ago and a bunch of the s plus's had bells ring for EACH PAYOUT)

So this Double Diamond Deluxe machine is 100 percent operational after just a couple weeks, when it was an ugly, spider-infested, latex coated boat anchor, which I thought I may be buying as a parts only machine! This has been, so far, the most fun machine to revive and clean up. Thanks to everyone, I gave it a new life!
