I look at the MPU it has no dip sw,s or volume control . So I guess it is a 16mhz

Ok, so your next step would be to procure a SP1272 (there are other type 0 SP chips, but that is probably the best bet) and a SET090. Best bet is to put a WTB in the classifieds. You will still need more stuff, but no sense in spending a lot of money if the machine has other serious issues.

Not on a 16mhz board, no. Take a look at the following post which lists the available SP chips and what they support. If you have a 16mhz board, you must use a chip that's designated as a 16mhz chip.

http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=68.0

If you're not positive that you have a 16mhz board, post a picture of the board here and we'll identify it for you. Always make sure the power is off when removing or inserting the MPU board.

I just took a look at those pictures and I'll be honest - I cannot tell whether or not it's a 10MHz or 16MHz MPU board?
I cannot actually see the plastic blue potentiometer volume control dial that's usually located above the CMOS chip.

Anyways, assuming that's it's an 16MHz board - the link knagl provided in Reply#28,
will definitely help Rick choose the proper SP chip.
To make things simple, I also agree with Poppo that an SP1272 would be a good choice for the 2 coin Wild Cherry game.

Yes I agree from some of the replies I've gotten. I looked an it has no dip switches or volume control. Leaving me
To think 16mhz also. I found a sb1145. I'm going to give it a try.

I assume you meant SP1145. That should work. You will get some errors, but go here and use this chart to clear them.

http://www.newlifegames.net/igterrors/

For the 61, be sure to follow the directions carefully.
1 With door open, press self test button until it changes to 61_1
2 Close AND latch door.
3 Turn the jackpot reset key.

I'm pretty sure you are going to get some sort of error because the hopper is mising, but I'm not sure. But one step at a time.

Update:::   Ok I put the game chip in sp 1145. turned the power on got a 61 error .Pressed the white test button got a 61.1.  Keep in mind that I still don't have a coin hopper yet or a (play-all-credits sw). When I turn the reset key I get a 65.3 error. I keep turning the reset key until all of the errors go a way. Then I can press the spill button and the reels will spin. Then I get a 43 error. Can you or some tell me what the problem might be. Thanks Rick

43 is a reel # 3 tilt. Open door and close. If it does it again, try swapping reels #2 & #3 temporarily (with power off) to see if it changes to a 42 error. If it does, you have a bad reel.  Before swapping reels, make sure nothing is binding on the reel.  Don't worry about changing reel strips or anything, this is just a test to see if it's the reel or something else.

With power off? With power off, it should feel about the same as the other reels. But still swap them and see what happens. Just pull the plug under the reel and then pull the reel assy forward.
