First my crt (w/3m controller) stopped working and was on the edge anyway of total death. I had a spare LCD touchscreen with internal 3M touch controller. With that in mind I started to tinker.

Got the LCD to pick up the signal from the Game Maker perfectly! Now I'm stuck with the recognition of the 3m controller.

When it boots up it looks like it is not recognized because it offers instructions to use the door buttons.

I think the problem is that my touchscreen serial connection coming out of the LCD has only three wires and there are 5 wires comming out of the game maker jmon port for the t/s control.

Do any of you have a pinout diagram of the jmon connector on the back board of the GM?

Looking at the Ceronix replacement board it looks like it is possible for this to work, but I need to identify all the wires first.

Update. Installed LCD and that is working great (got a 15in lcd for a Bally Evo for cheap on ebay, it fits better). Can't seem to figure out where to hook up the brown red and black wires from the serial port on the 3m touch controller to the GM jmon port. I'm using the same 3m Microtouch controller that was working on the CRT monitor, I also have two other 3m controllers that I cant seem to get the GM to recolonize.

Anyone know about Gamemakers wiring specs?

please help~!!~ applause

this is related to my 85% done CRT to LCD conversion for under $75.

I need the pin-outs because I cannot get the Gamemaker to recognize my 3m touch controller that was taken off my working CRT unit prior to moving it to my LCD display.

The old serial connector running to the backplane has the following three wires:

Black
Brown
Red

I need to know where to match them up on the wires running to the jmon port of the gamemaker.

A gamemaker schematic of the backplane would also be great!!

I have posted this as a similar question the the Gamemaker forum section but cannot get a response.
Thanks in advance!!

Jim,
This is why I'm sending you my old chassis.
I dropped the big $$$ for the Ceronix drop in replacement.

I love it.

The pictures are from my cell phone and don't do the LCD's quality and sharpness justice. It is perfect color and sharpness, just need to do a bit of image adjustment.

did some more research on this       this is for the V7 backplane board,  it has a big 13 pin connector located at the bottom right about two inches in from the end and the jmon plug is located on the right side , right on the edge of the backplane.  E-832-65 w/touch 14"

the jmon connector is a 20 pin connector, it connects to the monitor using a 24 pin connector.  here are the wire colors and functions and pin numbers for that connector.
1=blue=iob=pin 1jmon
2=red=ior=pin20jmon
3=green=iog=pin6jmon
4=white=hsync=pin4jmon
5=orange=red ret.=pin10jmon
6=violet=blue ret.=pin18jmon
7=brown=green ret.=pin16 jmon
8=black=digital ret.=pin2jmon
9=yellow=vsync=pin14jmon
10=orange/green=touch rcv=pin1jmon
11=orange/white=touch xmit=pin11jmon
12=orange/black=ground=pin15jmon
13=yellow/orange=ground=pin17jmon
14=blue/yellow=-12vdc= power supply
15=blue/red=+12vdc=power supply
16=red/blue=VCC= power supply
17,18, 19, 20, 21, 23,=n/c
22=black/white=115vac monitor return
24=white/black=115vac monitor hot

hope this helps
