Hi
Just purchased a 1994 Double Diamond S+ have an issue where the lights come on the BV cycled and nothing else, looked in the forum and found
the problem might be with the Molex harness/connector intermitant. Mess around with this and get it to work intermitantly so I going to renew some parts
Where is the best place to get the following.
Harness between PS and main board.
Coins played display, some of the lines are missing. Dont know if this is the whole board or just the led.
Play buttons are yellow, want white ones.
BV that will take the new dollar bills.
New coin validator.
Thanks

Without some more info and/or pictures of your machine I am only guessing
Usually the Bill Acceptor in a S+ is either DVV-145 or a DBV-200. if you bought it from a dealer it should be a DBV-200
If you have DBV 145 in it try to get DBV-200 with the latest software.
www.Rudydeals.com has the S+ Player display, also many vendors here also have them.

Gary first things first   NLG Welcome

No one else has jumped in to give you a hand so let me give it a try.  Attached picture is a fix I do to S+ power harness, all you need is a soldering iron, solder, flux, shrink tube and a little skill. Solder that harness on and it will be fixed for life.

You said you need a new coin comparator, why don't we talk about them. The following is for S+ only this will not hold true for a S 2000. Coin Comp. is 4" X 3 1/2" x 1" The only job the Comparator has is to compare the coin dropped in, to the sample coin. In a fraction of a second it does this comparison and if the drop coin is with in range the rake on the backside of the comparator opens and the coin goes through the coin optics and into the hopper. If the drop coin doesn't pass the comparison to the sample coin the rake does not open and the dropped coin goes to the tray. IGT S + the MPU and the Coin comparator do not talk to each other, if your dropping coins in and they are going to the hopper and your not getting any credits the comparator isn't bad but the coin optics need to be looked at. If all dropped coins are going to the tray then look at the comparator.

Your BV, tell us what color it is, Black or unpainted.

The digital display and buttons you can post a Want To Buy or contact one of our vendors that have a banner add on the home page. Blueridge seems to come through with most of the parts I need.( Besides the fact that I kind of like him )

Hi
Thanks for the info.
I pulled the mother board out and clened all the connectors with a connector spray, put it all back together
and it worked fine yesterday, turned machine off last night and turned on this morning and it is the same as before
lights come on BV cycles and no digital display on the front. tried moving the connectors and nothing has come to life.
I work in the electronics business so I may have them take the connector off and wire the harness straight to the board,
hoping this is the problem ?
My BV is a 200 but it will not take the new bills !
The coin comparitor drops coins into the hopper without giving credits...this happens 50% of the time, tried switching in between
tokens and qtrs and same happens to both, can something need cleaning ?

Update
Got machine working again.....took power harness out , removed the contacts form the motherboard end of cable and they looked like they had a film on them,
cleaned up the contact area plus cleaned connector pins on the header on the board, put cable back and bingo machine is working. Monday I will
have cable soldered straight to board.

are you talking about the cables that have the black connectors on them (at the bottom behind where the cpu board slides down) was it the pins inside the connector that corrosion on them? I have a machine that has similar problems, So I just need a good place to start.

Thanks,

David

Hi
It is the 6 wire cable that goes from the power supply to the middle header connector on the front of the mother board.

See pic and red arrow

Guys, you have seen this sticky post, right?

http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=14163.0

As far as your bill validator, Gazbiz, the DBV-200 isn't supported by IGT anymore, and even the very latest update to it still doesn't support the new $5 bills. If memory serves, the best you're going to get is support of the newer $20s.
