OK all It's that time again for the
6th Annual 4th of July NLG BBQ and Fireworks Bash...

It Starts Tuesday July 3th 9:00 am to Wednesday July 4th to - ?? pm.

In a way to say thank you to one and all we will be putting on the 6th annual 4th of July NLG BBQ and Fireworks Bash...
here at the world renowned    NLG Command Center.. 

We will be have BBQ lots of free play on all of the slots 
Tuesday Night will be Movie night Out side under the stars. and
A Spectacular fireworks display will be at 9:00 pm on the 4th.

The shop is right down the street / river from ground 0 ......
and we will be blocking off the parking lot so all will have the best seat in the house..

More to come as the day gets closer please RSVP this topic so we can have enough food and drink on hand... and hope to see you here.

Who is coming for the fun??? Mom and I are planning to be there again this year for the week.

Well last year this is what I posted:

The weekend is almost here.  
Again I'll be stuck with work as this is our busy time of the year.     I tend to suck up as much time as I can.
 I know we have other member here that always work this holiday to make for safe fun events for everyone,
so here's to the others that will be working.
 I keep telling myself that NEXT year I'm going to hop a flight and take in the show at the command center. Well, I think I've had enough procrastinating and I'll be heading out next year. A cold beer, chicken off the grill and potato salad in 110 + degree heat sound OK to me. I'd rather take in the show than have to put my name on it and be held accountable.
Save me a seat next year because it's my turn to say NO and just enjoy the show.

Hope everyone has a safe grand old time.

And I have been looking forward to it ever since. I have the time off work booked and HAD a green light for GO...
Unfortunately I had a very disturbing phone call last Monday afternoon. My Dad had a massive stroke. I rushed home from work packed a bag and drove 5 hours to the hospital. I was able to spend time and see him before he passed the next day. Sorry to have to bring you this bad news. I know many here has experienced the same loss. Now that I'm back home, it seems to get worst as I think about "What ifs" with the medical decisions. At least I was there to make all the final arrangements with the rest of the siblings and catch up on family that I have not seen for years.
      Some time ago I gave my dad a Haywire Deluxe machine. He use to love to play it. It was nice to see all the grandchildren and great grand children playing and enjoying the machine as he use to.
At this time it looks like I will not be able to attend the 4th of July Bar-B-Que even though I really need the time away.
I'll keep you posted as I still would like to attend, just trying like hell to get it worked out. but it doesn't look good.

Wow, so sorry to hear about your loss! I am one of those that lost my father recently, actually it has been over a year now, but it still seems fresh in my mind. I still miss him, and just want to pick up the phone and call him! I guess that I can say that I know what you are going through, and please let us know if there is anything that we can do for you! I am thinking good thoughts for you and your family!

I have been busy and not around for a little bit, and I thought that I would check in to see if we have more people planning on coming for the 4th of July festivities since we are getting closer to that time!

I'm planning on being there with the wife. Although I can't stay late for the fireworks, gotta work graveyard.( casino's don't believe in holidays LOL) What can I make to help out food wise? potato salad, baked beans, cheese cake???

Robert, I'm so sorry to hear about your recent loss. As you might know, I just lost my dad as well.  Words can't really express the depth of our loss, but spending time with family and friends helps. Focus on remembering all the good times you had with your father and know that he is at peace.

Well CH , I didn't book a room because the hotel at which you're staying was already booked solid when I called them (just a couple of days after talking with you) and the other hotels had jacked up their rates. It didn't make sense to get a room when I'd still have to drive 30 minutes from your location to get back to my own hotel, so I'm just going to make two day trips on Wednesday and Thursday (unless Tuesday/Wednesday would be better) and drive home each night.

My plan is to get there around 9-10am each day, which I figure will fit in with your "holiday" sleep schedule.

So, who else is planning to attend?   

I didn't see Buzz's name on the list on Facebook, but then again he didn't actively select the "not attending" option either...   
So, Buzz, are you going to be there?

Call me ASAP, and I will hook you up with some free nights that I have at the Aquarius! That will save you some time, money, and wear and tear on the car.

Buzz is not going to be able to make it, like most people it looks like work and the 4th being on Wednesday has messed up everyone's ability to make the BBQ this year! It will be a small fling this year.

Funny thing is that Buzz will actually be picking up some Carnival Rides just a few miles away from my house. I told him with all of the rides that he hauls, he should drop some off over here and stop by for dinner and some fun!  Go figure that he needs to pick some up when I am gone!!!

Wish I could have made it to 4th bash at Command Central but I just got off call this morning. Will be in Laughlin this weekend.

I have one similar with my son at his 1st birthday party. That was 34 years ago, when I actually had hair on my head!!! Man how time flies.

Happy EVERYTHING to EVERYONE!!! Alot of great things listed above...

I am still down at the AVI hotel/casino as we were going to take advantage of the nice pool and river beach (go to AVIcasino.com to check out the pictures...) before heading to the Command Center for the afternoon and evening festivities. We thought after several days of 1xx degrees this would be a great idea! SO... I opened the curtains and saw the clouds and rain and said  . It is not even over 90 degrees here yet, and it may not hit 100 today! BUT it is hot and MUGGY! David, Statfreak just got here and said be gott "MUGGED" several times on teh way over here because of the rare humidity here!
