Hi everyone.
I have a Bally s5500 roaring 20s slot that has an 81 error.
I ordered the battery last week but I am a little worried about soldering it in.
Is it possible to just clip off the old battery leaving its leads and use insulated alligator clips to attach the new battery's leads to them?

Thanks!

you can try.  worst case is that the connection would be lost and you would have to clear and set up again.  You can also solder the new battery leads to the old leads.

Thanks,
Wayne

Thanks Wayne! ... Maybe soldering leads together would be a good option. Less chance of me messing up the board!

worst case, take it to a Batteries Plus location, they usually have a tech with a soldering station that will do it for you.

Ok well I put the new battery in and have an 83F error now (usual from other posts I read) but the jumper trick did not work and one of the chips has 9600 i believe. So the question is where can I get the chips need to clear?
Thanks!
