Ok guys,
At one time I knew what a 65-3 error code on an s+ ment however the years and miles
have long since left that information on the information superhiway somewhere....LOL and NO it's not in the damn manual or in the flash cards anywhere. I believe that it has to do with the SP chip........This is the same game that I was working on
and posted the "what SP Thread" a couple of days agao. I have made a copy of a known good working SP 1271 and installed it and all i get when trying to initialize the game is 61 which clears with the cursor button, then 61-1, which clears with the door closed and turn the reset key, it then goes to 65-3 and will not clear. I even tried clearing the ram with the clear chip then installing the 1271 and I get the same thing. Anyone got a clue as how to get rid of this code ?????

Hey CP,
when i key the reset from 65-3 it dose indeed go back to 65-1......then if I key it again it goes into meters
or statistical data mode.........If I power the game down then I have to go back thru the whole sequence again
What am I missing ????

get it back to 65-1, close the door, press the little white test button, close the door- you're go to go or open fire!

A 65-3 and its recovery steps can be found in "Rick's FAQ Files" at the link at the top of every page.  Here's a direct link to the "common IGT errors" page.   propeller

It's no biggie -- I'm sure I've asked questions found in the FAQs, too!   yes

Most FAQs suck.

They start off with "Is the power on ?" and go downhill from there.
Ricks Faqs actually contain useful information.
The only negative thing I can say is that some of the links are using too small a font..... and I am not old  hissy fit

On most browsers (at lease firefox and IE), you can hold down control and use the scroll wheel on your mouse to make the fonts bigger or smaller.  Try it.  For those of us at near bi-focal stage (in denial), or just could use a bigger font, it's a quick fix for most websites.

For people using Firefox and IE who prefer keyboard shortcuts, you can press <Ctrl> + and <Ctrl> -  to change the magnification instead of using the mouse. In Firefox, you can also press <Ctrl> 0 (zero) to return directly to 100% (but not in IE).
