I have a Haywire Deluxe that I hadn't powered up for 2 weeks in a cold garage and now the coins just drop thru. No reel spin or cycle thru on the bill validator on powering up either. If I open the door and press the white reset button the bill validator cycles but does not light up. I changed the coin/token in the comparitor but it did not make a difference. Any thoughts ? No codes come up to show what the issue is.
Thanks,

Frank,
Sound like no power to the motherboard.
Check the power connector. There has been many discussions here with that problem on the S+ machine.
(I assume it's an S+)

I would also assume that the reel spin freely??? and are not stiff.

It is an S +. The reels spin OK if I move them by hand. I checked the connections on top. They are snug on top. Should I reset the whole board ? I get the cycling on the bill validator but no light.

Frank,
With power on the reels should be stiff when you try to move them.
If they spin freely as with no power on, then you are missing power.
Check the fuse, check the connector to the motherboard.

Frank  Like Neon said it's most likely the power cord to the mother board. Here is a picture of a mother board that I've removed the plug and soldered the wires direct. ( sorry I don't have one that hasn't been soldered to show you. )

Remove your hopper and the mother board is fastened to the floor in back of your machine. With power on wiggle the plug and see if the reels will get stiff. If they do get stiff your going to need to get a new power cord or solder yours like I did.

The reels have some resistance. They don't just spin freely, but I can move them. I will go trouble shoot it later tonight. Thank you all.

The three fuses are good. The reels light up and can be moved by hand with some resistance but not like they are powered up and holding back. The bill validator cycles but does not light and coins fall thru. I changed the token in the validator too. The only numbers showing are the last win which was 12 credits. I checked all wires and pushed all connectors together. The mother board has all solid connections. Any other thoughts ? It was working for 2 months, but I had it without power for 3 weeks.

Are you sure the 12 is not the error code for a dead battery?

The code is in the extreme left window. Would that be the code location for a dead battery issue ?

It was the battery. Thank you. Cleared the 61 code.
