Proslot 5500, SafeRam Clear procedure- Jumpers or Eprom chips?

I see there are two different ways to do a SafeRam Clear.  I had a error code 81, then after changing the battery I'm getting the 83F error. I tried the WJ10 Ram Clear jumper and held in the two buttons (Test & Coin) but I only got a Partion Ram Clear indication (CH-P).  So I assume I need the two Ram Clear chips.

I also read something about the part number on the Mains & how that can make a difference too.  Can you expand on that please.

do it again and hold buttons in tight to ram clear you dont need clear chips

Thanks Paul, it finally went through the complete ram clear and the machine is functioning now.  Woo Hoo!

I'm still curious about the other issues I've read about, how the "old" mains wont allow you to do this or someting like that.

Also, how do you decode the model number on these Bally's to confirm a 5000, 5500, or 6000 machine etc.  I have the Bally ProSlot 5500 manual (thanks to NLG) but have not found much info about these issues there.

Glad you got it up and running.  Its the newer mains that you need clear chips for as for the other nos  the 94 is year made  the other nos are part numbers
