When turning the machine on, I sometimes get this screen and a different sound as if the machine is drawing more power or struggling. Then it goes to the alternating color screens and boots up.
Today, I got this screen again but after going to alternating colors, it kept making the struggling sound over and over until it shut itself off.
I turned the inside switch off and back on and it booted up fine.
Power supply? Scratching my head.
Thanks, Jim

Jim  Looks like the graphics's are messing up. Try reseating the eproms and clean the simm contacts with a pencel eraser. If that doesn't help I'll send you a new game set.  Or if you haven't changed your other machine to a 044 yet, put this board and game in it and see what happens.

Hi Buzz,
It's not just this game that it does this with. I cleaned the contacts before switching back from Hex Breaker. As I recall, it's done it since I've owned it, just never to the point where it's shut the machine off.
I figured it has to do with being cold since it's in the garage right now but it's not that cold today.
Hmmm.
Thanks, Jim

I'd like to point out if it's not clear that after the machine boots up and the game is playing it is fine and has no issues.
Only during the boot up does this happen.
Thanks, Jim

I would suspect the power supply based upon what you have described.  When you say the machine is struggling, I assume you hear clicking sounds which are indicative of the power supply going out.

The fan slows and lights dim as it struggles. That's the best way I can descibe it.
Thanks, Jim
