Out of the 5 "hold" buttons the first one often does not register when hit and can take a few tries. This is pretty classic and I find this a lot in the casinos. Can be really annoying, especially when you are losing bawling

There are 5 buttons above the hold buttons that aren't used. I was wondering if I can swap one of those in place.

The bad button doesn't stick, it's action is fine I just think the micro switch has seen its day. I'm thinking I can just swap it for one of the unused buttons and all will be fine. Make sense?

Thanks

I think that would work. Swap it out with the CHANGE button microswitch.

Nothing more annoying than sticky/faulty hold buttons!! hissy fit

And make sure you swap the existing bad switches wires to the new switch. Sounds obvious, but people do sometimes forget. New switches can be had for a few bucks if you post a wanted to buy ad here in the classifieds

One of two things, the feet on the white part of the switch gets worn where it presses on the micro switch, or the micro switch has poor contacts inside of it. A drop of super blue on the feet will build it back up so it will push on the micro switch ( LET SUPER GLUE HARDEN BEFORE REASSEMBLEY ) Or replace micro switch.

One other thing, the lower part of those switches just push up in place, make sure it's pushed up all the way. ( I may be overloading my A$$, I'm assuming they are original IGT switches )

i swapped out the #73 bulbs with led lamps,  looked great, however the led bulbs were longer and hampered the operation of the switch,
to fix situation, i pulled them and ground off the magnifying tip of the leds with angle grinder, works fine now.
