sounds like you need to run the keychip program to enable validation

Dear Kforeman:

The bill acceptor works well and the printer too, the issue is my machines I game Plus aren't online and obviously there is a message on screen " Validation not configured" or "machine disable" because these machine aren't online and the machine wait for connection with host or DPU  but I saw some machines off-line with CDS sentinel II board installed and your printers work without any error message, all of them are alone, look like if sentinel II emula be online.
I need do the same connection because I not have got online system but I need those machines will work with ticket printer, If you or someone have CDS sentinel II schematic or manual of installation please I need that urgent.
Anything else please you let me know,

Thank you,

Isa1064

unfortunately i don't think i have a CDS manual in electronic form.

but from what i can tell by what you have stated you have games that have no communication between the sentinel and the machine.  the easiest way to know this is to use a mechanics card and check the "comm status."  the address should always be locked on 1, if it's changing from 1 and any other numbers then the sentinel is not "talking" with the machine.
for wiring it depends on which channel you have the machine set up for sas communication.  if it's channel 2 then there should be a ribbon cable connected between your SMI IV board at J8 and the machine motherboard at J6.  if you are using channel 3 then there would be a cable connecting between J11 on the sentinel and J82 on the super stepper comm. board on the machine.
also i still think it's possibly a machine option that is not set correctly, verify your communication and validation settings and post them up if you can.
post up if you need any other explanations or have more questions.  hopefully your translator does a good job with this information.

Isn't it the Validation type setting Standard vs Enhanced

That's how it is for other machines, no system = standard validation.  I don't have an I-Touch machines yet, so I couldn't check on those specifically.

Thanks,

Hi, Kforeman:

Thank you a lot for your patience because I don't write English very well but I try it, actually it's first time I approach to onlime system, I hope you understand me.
When you said "the easiest way to know this is to use a mechanics card and check the "comm status." what means mechanic card I suppose a test board or something like that, is right?
I gonna send some pictures of the boars sentinel II that I have got because connector J8 on sentinel I/O board is 14 pins y in machine mother board connector J6 is 10 pins, maybe we are talking different board.
I don't have problem to setup machine but I not have any information about CDS sentinel II, thank you in advance.

well to answer the first part, the mechanics card is the blue card that is used by techs to access diagnostic and meter information through the card reader and keypad.  if you have a global global card you can access with it also through the utility function.
if you have a blue card put it in and arrow down until you see "view," press enter and arrow down to "com status."  the address in the bottom left of the display should always read 1; the errors in the bottom right should be stationary, if there are digits there but it's not incrementing then it's ok, if these errors are incrementing then there is a problem with the comm between the sentinel and the machine; the errors in the top right corner should be stationary as well, if they are incrementing then the comm problem is between the sentinel and the dpu.
if you have a global put it in the card reader, press enter first and arrow down to "utility," press enter then enter again on "mech card," from there follow above directions for a mechanics card.

the J8 i referred to is not on the sentinel itself, it's on the SMI IV board, you may not have it.  are you using a ribbon cable to interface the sentinel to the machine?

don't worry about the broken english, we'll still help you out here at NLG.   Wink  Cool Thumbs-Up

Hi Kforeman:

Sorry I wasn't attend to forun cause I had family matters but today I was able to try CDS board according you description and it worked, means I can print tickets like cashout, I wonder if the same way it's can use on machines blue bird or aristocrat.
If you know how those machines be able to connect please let me know and I can try it, I know it isn't the better way use ticket printer but is a solution for small casino like me.

Thank you,
