WTB: Mummy short reel glass.

Not sure this is a restoration project as much as a customization project, but thought I'd share it with you anyway. All of the S2000s I've ever encountered have had the same, stock denomination numerals displayed under the reels and it always struck me as odd that IGT never tried to match those stickers to each game's theme. So I decided to try and update my IDOJ machine with this concept.

The first photo is of the stock sticker you're all familiar with. The second image is the custom art I created to replace that stock sticker. I had it printed to a material made for the back-lit menu boards you see in fast food restaurants. The plastic is laminated and made to diffuse light and the inks are UV fade resistant.

Photo three shows the payout chart where I grabbed the number 25 from for matching fonts. The last photo is what the new sticker looks like. I definitely like the typeface better than the stock sticker, but the colors are a bit more washed out than I had hoped for. I plan to increase the color saturation, reprint and try again. Hopefully that'll do the trick.

Nice.. What is the name of the stock you are printing on? I can't seem to get the 'glow' to look like the stock ones, its doesn't 'glow' as consistent. I have tried paints, printing on numerous stock, even layering a transparency that I printed on with a thin white plastic type stock put behind.

Does anyone know the actual method that was used to print the denom legends?

Harvey

Wow! Way to take it to the next level - those look awesome! K+1!! I don't really know what the stock is that my printer used, other than tell you they called "Back-Lit Opaque" used for restaurant menu boards. Just looking at them, I wager the original denom labels were made with a silk screen process on plastic, then laminated.

Thanks! Since I last posted I came up with a method that seems to look almost perfect. It is printed on a roll stock, made for outdoor signs and whatnot (gloss on one side, matte/chalky on the other). Works well, but I'm picky, so will keep messing around with other ideas.

Posted are some multi-denom legends made from the material.

I have a friend that runs a graphic design business. The printer is like 6 feet wide..,  the stock/material is on a huge roll (like 4ft wide by ? feet long) so he can only add what I need when he runs a job and has extra room to keep the cost down for me. (I pay with lunch haha). I will get the info on the name of the material when I see him next.

Thanks! I made them different colors and shapes to try to somewhat go with my machines theme, in this case Triple Double HotPeppers. I can design them to any theme, amount, etc  just like I did for the 25c legends above. It only takes a sec to whip them up, but it takes time with trial and error figuring out what looks perfect. I'm picky I guess.  Ha

Post a picture of the machine and ideas on what you want the legend to look like. I can whip something up for you. (Note: For sizing, I can only go off S+ and S2000 size legends, I have no other makes of slot legends to go off of.)

Please Post Pictures of the slot you have in mind..

I was thinking for the IGT I game....I have heard it is a pain to get the correct 'win upto' Credit decals.  Most are empty or just pieces of paper.  I can't post pics right now cause I'm at work but if you look on my profile at the pics for the Frog Prince machine you will see what I'm talking about on the left side of the top glass.  I found out some people even buy the glass to get the correct decal.  It seems each machine at one point had real decal that matched the machine but now a lot are junk paper and look like crap.  If you look at the Enchanted Unicorn you will see a real one.

Is it backlit there?
