How long is a short?

Hi All
I have this interesting one. We keychip this machine with a Key 40 on the road. Now we get a "keychip group error,  cycle power" no matter if we use a 17, 22 or a Key 40. Anyone ever run across this?

ok...I changed it to two higher chipsets and it will key each correctly with the Key 40, but each is pixalated. I assume the board has an earlier video IC that wont take the new resolutions from the new software. Can I change the video chip to a higher version?

I was testing a I Game in a machine and using a Key 22 it would let me make the 3 choices for clear and key and I would say yes on all three. Press the test button and it would go right back to the three choices it never did clear and key the machine. Tried a Key 040 with the same results.  Changed to a different 3902 and clear and key worked as it should. ( something wrong with the board )

I was just visiting that river in Egypt...oh yeah whats it called...Da Nile. This is a warranty job so didnt want to have to spend the dough but I suspected it was a hardware failure giving a software fault.

Thanks for the input. Clap
