If you make games changes on your machines, these are the best things since sliced bread!  No more bent or broken pins, a turn of the small crank and you just lift out the eprom; the reverse when dropping in the new eprom.  These sockets can be soldered in or they hold good by just pressiing them into the existing socket. The best thing I ever bought! Here is a pic!

Hello all!

I am going to be buying some ZIF sockets for my two S2000 machines and just wondering if anyone else has done this and what/where they bought them and if they have any suggestions or comments.  I will be buying a 40 pin for Key/Clear/Base and a 28/32 pin for game.  I have found various ones from both Jameco and Digikey - just not sure which ones to pick and looking for input from someone who was done it...

Thanks!

I think I acquired the 28 pin ones from Jameco, at the time I only had the S+.
Since I am using S+ reel chips in the Vision/S2000 I use the 28 pin ZIF for U17.

Just make sure they are the low profile kind. Some others are thicker and can cause space problems.

Hello!

This is going into a S2000 so I don't think space will be an issue - but I will check the dimensions.

Thanks!

I use one low profile socket in each of Visions and S-2000s to hold an SS chip.
