Just had this happen to me on one of my machines, bit it does not have a hopper or a coin comparitor. What would cause this and how can I avoid it happening again?

Weve had this a few times. Found it to be the hopper optics, hopper driver board, or cabinet I/O. Cabinet I/O is most likely. Pull and reseat or swap for known working. If that doesn't work, switch hoppers with a known working one and see if that clears it.

Then swap your cabinet I/O... yes   AND check your battery!!!! I forgot about that earlier. That was one that took awhile to figure out....and caused a TON of gray hair (for Darrell, of course, not me, I don't have any gray hairs  Jeannie  Jeannie )

The battery was 2.78v and caused machine to completely freak out.
