So I was doing some preventive maintenance on my S+ slots this weekend and there is this orange goo seeping out of the handle mechanism.  Is it some sort of lubricant that over the years it has kind of dried up? Because now it jut feels like rubber or dried up bubblegum.  It was running down the side of the cabinet and some got into the power supply.  I was able to remove it all, but what is it and do I need to put more in the handle now that it is all dried up?

arrow arrow arrow I guess I need to get some then.  What do they look like?

These things must belong to Maxwell Smart.  Both my machines' bumper have melted and so has my spare handle mech.  "Your handle mech stop bumper will self destruct in ....."  Burning Resistor

Here it is, about 1.5 inch long and 3/4" wide.  Absorbs the hammer effect, at least until it turns to the orange goo...

I was just going to rig up something.  The part that goes gooey is only the orange part.  The black part is made up of some sort of hard plastic.  I was just going to buy some square rubber feet about 1/4 inch high and stuck them on there and put it back.

I was thinking you could wrap some tape around the edge as a "fence" and fill it with silicone rubber. Remove the tape when it dries and be good for another 30 years or so
