IGT Game King mainchip replacement

Hi!

I'm not so sure if this is right place ti this topic, but if it isn't, admins can move it to correct place.

I tried to accses keychip meny in my IGT Game King Multigame, and I succeed to break one of the pins on main chip (if its name is mainchip, but anyway that chip that you have to replace with keychip). And cause that, the mainchip, of course, does not work. I can't find replacement part from enywhere, so do I have buy a new, 550€ (~600$) machine because that happened? All the text that has been written onb the chip:

No, no, you won't have to buy a new machine....just a replacement chip ($10-15 programmed).

Can you show us a pic of the chip, or tell us what the label on the chip says (not the writing on the chip itself)? Looking for a 7 digit number starting with M, like M0001782 (the M2704002 number is the size of the chip). If there is no label (which would be strange, but bot unheard of), please provide a pic of your board that shows the rest of your software and we can tell you what EPROM you need. Someone here will have it (well, 95% chance anyway). Buying a blank replacement EPROM will do you no good, as the one you have has contains data that is required to run your game.

But, if you have a soldering iron and a little skill, you can solder the little leg back on it. It doesn't have to be pretty, as long as you can get it in the socket! It will work, and then you can find a replacement chip!

Uh oh! You need to get those chip windows covered! UV light is not good, as that is what is used to erase a program from an EPROM. For now, place a piece of black electrical or even duct tape over the windows.

Well, so, we have a little problem. None of your software is labeled, which is not good. We don't know what chipset you are using, and therefore, cannot determine what the program is on the chip you need to replace. Any information avail from the seller perhaps? We usually see one or two chips not labeled, not every single one. Very strange...and especially to not even cover the windows.

Here are some options for you:

-Solder the leg back on the chip. If you don't have you're original leg, then you can snip one off an extra EPROM if you have any around.
-Solder leg back on and send the EPROM to someone with an eprom burner and have them read your chip and make you a back-up copy.
-Buy a complete software set for your machine by placing a WTB in the Classifieds here specifying what you would like. ($75-100)

Don't worry, I wont keep them in thet place always, they are right now inside the machine (wich should be safe place?) Mayby game selection will tell what is my chipset?  That machine is originally brought from Estonian casino, what might be why I wont have labels. I think I should know twll desparately every single piece of information, that might have anything to do with the chipset, or software:

I can select up to 12 games at same time.
I can select out of 30 games.
Machine includes bill reder
hopper limit is adjustable
coin insert-thing can accept only on coin at the time, and have slot for examplecoin.
macihne is manufactured in 2001
I have a manual file!
I don't have a solder!

I'm not sure what you mean by manual file. But anyway, the info is in the machine, which you can see while in the Key Chip menu, however, after installing the key chip, didnt it ask you to re-install base chip? I do not think you can access Key Menu to look around without putting your base chip back in...

The options you mentioned are standard on any zgameKing. Maybe a close up of your screen, so we can see if perhaps the set of games can be identified, but that is a real long shot!

You need to go buy a cheap soldering iron at Radio Shack...or a hardware store...probably $15. You only need a 30w...

yours will be easy to tell what version due to game selections available. I would post this in the igame/gameking section. Its going to be version 3.0? i believe.with the blackjack and wildflower were only available on i think 1 version of chips but i could be wrong. You should have 31 game selection, multidenominations

31 game selection is completely possible, because I have been able to cgeck the complete selection only once. But here is some games that I remember for sure:

I believe it's one of the version 4.x game themes.  Some of the popular chip combos I've seen are ...

Of course, there are many combinations based on jurisdiction, country, etc.  So, Roz is right in that the leg of the eprom needs to be fixed in order to be read.  It's possible that whoever fixes your chip can also fix the leg.  How about the person you bought it from?  It's obvious they have a chip burner and could probably replace the chip for you?
