Can you post a picture of it.
or a link to it if  you bought it online?

I do not know why people call them mini photon anyways (they are 7-segment LED display)
if it is the unit that goes to the S2000.
It and the Spectrum's for the S2000 you set them up as Standalone level 1 in 7.3.1 and then set the Base Amount, Current Amount, Limit Amount and Increment which is percentage based in 7.3.3

And it would not hurt to try a 4.3 Auto Configure Netplex Device after you plug it in so the machine sees it before you go into setups

ebay item #331079083128 is the thing i purchased. 7.3.1 comes up as controller select of which the only option is 7.3.1.1 game 1. when i select that i can choose the denom in 7.3.1.1.1 which is currently set to .25. i can set it to each denom i have credit values already set which are .25, .50, 1.00 and 5.00. 7.3.3 is stand alone setup which i cannot go into. that is why i was wondering if i needed to key chip it.

The 7 Segment progressive  is not a  Netplex device its actually a SENET device.

I thought it was until I installed one in a friends machine

Yes you need to key chip to configure anything in 7.1 7.2 or 7.3 with no credits on the machine when you key chip it.

4.3 yields spectrum display not responding. i plugged the 6x2 connector into the only place it could go in the chop top which has connectors coming from the bottom of the machine. here are a couple of pics. unit is plugged into the far right connector.

ok i key chipped it and changed some options in 7 namely i set it up for 6-6-3 segment display instead of 5-5-2 default. still nothing on the 7 segment progressive. on 7.3 stand alone in key chip nothing was available. shouldn't something be available there?

and does anyone know if the 7-segment display type is supposed to be 5-5-2 or 6-6-3?

under 7.3.2 progressive display setup there are only options for "none" and "video display". when i choose video display it complains it can communicate with the video display. i assume the 7 segment display is NOT video? so i set that to option to "none"? or should i be seeing another option such as "7 segment"?

under 7.3.3 stand alone setup, which i would assume this is, there are no options to choose from. does this mean the machine is not seeing the progressive display?

am i supposed to put anything in 7.3.4 sas progressive setup? it asks for the sas progressive group....

more info: menu 4.5, 7-segment display test, lights up the progressive meter and tests each segment simultaneously with the winner paid and credits displays. this is the only way i can get the 7-segment progressive display to show any sign of life. but at least the machine knows it's there.
