I have a 17" Igame that keeps burning out all but one or two of the five bezel lights that are to the right of the monitor. I'm using Mirco Lites Inc. #159 lamps which only seem to last but a day or two. Right now only one is working.
Are these the correct lamps and my issue is elsewhere?
Or having I been wasting money on the incorrect lamps?
Thanks, Jim

Those are 6V lamps and you're supplying them with 13V, that's why they keep burning out.  I replaced mine with a LED panel, but I think the bulbs that were in it were #658 which is a 14V 1W bulb.

I found my old board.  It had #161 bulbs in it.  14V 3W.  Brighter than the 658's.

Already got some #658's. They look fine to me. They match the brightness of the buttons pretty well.
Thanks again, Jim

No, the light from them looked fine until they would stop lighting up. Frankly don't notice a difference in the amount of light as with the #658's that are in it now.

I would have thought with twice the voltage the lamp was made for that it would be a lot brighter and give off more heat.

I guess it may have been brighter than it is but nothing that stood out to me.

Glad it didn't do any damage to a lamp cover or lens or any plastic nearby.
