I am picking up this beauty tomorrow, and wondered if anyone could give me any info on it? (age, model)
Don't have much experience with these, but it came from the Pioneer in Laughlin so I thought that was pretty cool.
At this point, It lights up and the coins just drop into the tray.
Sorry for the lousy cell phone pic, I will get better ones later.
Thanks everyone!

It looks to be a Bally E-Series by the win meter in the top right of the reel glass.. Check and see if it has a Bally Tag on the lower right side by the door. It would have the model number, and stamped across the top of the tag in the black paint would be the date of manufacturing.

Pull out the hopper and check the 50V fuse. That is where I would start. The ID plate is usually underneath the handle. That will show you the model # stamped into it.

Bally had put a lot of payout meters in their EM series machines.  a picture of the inside will tell the story or the absence of any boards will confirm it.  the fluorescents are 115vac, all general lighting is 6.3vac, and all the coils are 50vac. check the two fuses in the back, behind the hopper, orange wire is the 50vac, blue wire is the 6.3 vac.  If the fuses are good, manually cycle the machine to reset the reel mech and its switches. to cycle machine, pull on the handle, observe the top of the handle mech on the inside of the machine, you will see a level move as you pull the handle, hold that lever in place (toward the front of the machine) this will allow the handle to be pulled down. release the handle and see what happens. On the ID plate  you will find the model and serial number, also on the top of the metal plate you will find the date of manuf. take a flashlight and shine it at an angle to see the small numbers stamped into the metal plate, month, day, year.

First off, Thanks everyone for the information!  applause

Well my first obvious problem is the reels. At least where they plug in to the machine.
2 of the pins on the reels were bent at some point, and it looks like the reels got forced into the machine and broke the socket they plug into.

Is this something that can be replaced? or fixed?

Also the very top left fuse is blown. 9.5 volt?

Thanks everyone !

I looks like there are no wires attracted to the plugs.
Is that correct?
If so then you don't need them for anything other
than as a alignment part.
I removed the ones from my E2000 due to being
broken and I haven't had any problems.

Have you checked the power supply out put.
That is the bigest problem of the E Series slot.

Could you do me a favor? Could you post a pic of the the long terminal strip in the bottom of the cabinet on the left hand side, I would like to see the connections on that terminal strip.

Look for hot spots on the plastic terminal connection on the power supply board and clean the pins on the board with a small brass brush. That board has to come out to retie that capacitor anyway. Resolder all the pins on that power supply, it will save you a lot of grief. You may have to reseat that RAM board on the MPU. You may want to slide that RAM board off and brush those pins also, known problem area for the E1000.

Yes this is very helpful. To the far right, the small black wire on the bottom of the terminal strip, does it jumper to another terminal or is it just cut off and not connected? The other black jumper on the bottom to the left is clear about the connections, all good there.

I have a E1000 that has this same exact terminal strip and the machine is not working and I was wondering if my terminal strip is wired like yours.

Thank You!

Yes there are some wires attached to the back of the plug. I wish it could be that easy  Tongue Out
I will have more time to work on it this weekend and check the power supply.
