Forgive me but I searched for a cure. When I turn on the machine (FIVE TIMES PAY 2 Coin) the bill acceptor cycles and will not light up or take  money. It's like it's off. Is it a dip switch I need to turn on....Thanks waving flag Help

Usually requires a set chip.

Lets chech if you need it first.
Open door
Press self test 2-3 times until you see 0 in coin played and either 2  x or 5  x (x is any number) in winner paid display
Turn JP key until you see 9  0 or 9  1 in winner paid display (it should be 9  1 for bill validator enabled)
Press self test until you see 6 in coins played and a value in credits display (it must not be 0) it is the denomination value 1 - 1c, 5 - 5c, 25 - 25c, etc.

Hello!

You will need to use a Set key to change that option.  They were just having you check what the current setting is to verify that's what the issue is.

Do you have a clear and/or a set chip?  Always suggest having both of these chips Smiley

The "Val Set Chip" is the one you need to use to enable your validator.  While a chip puller is best, you can get away with GENTLY using a small flat-head screwdriver, working a little bit at a time on both open edges to work the chip out of the socket.

Power the machine off, then follow the instructions found in this FAQ.  Good luck, and let us know if you have any questions.

But I have to get a chip puller.

I didn't invent this but have several of them strategically placed where I use them.

SPECIAL EPROM REMOVER TOOL = An inexpensive small flat screwdreiver bent at the end.   reels hit 7's

I have others that are bent at the very end for tight places.

Thanks,
Wayne

I got this idea from Robert E. Sult (slot notes) a long time ago.  And thanks to him ( or whoever he got it from) I have bent quite a few screwdrivers..
