There is one HUGE advantage of slant tops.  The kits are CHEAP and very available.  Only 1 piece of glass to worry about.

Oh yes I did not think of that, the kits are cheap and the only glass you have to worry about is the top glass.

There is another. They are more comfortable to play! It's nice to be able to sit down, put a drink on the bet deck and rest your arms on the rail while you play. This is even more true for touch screen video poker games where the slant top and bar top designs prevent arm fatigue. I also like reaching into the "hole" and pulling out money, but that's just me.

If you don't place them against a wall, you can look over the top of the machine at the rest of the room, which keeps you more connected to others around you. They do take up more space, but not as much as most people think, especially when you take the upright machine's slot stand into account. Of course, they're much more difficult to get through doors and to move in general, and their resale value is crap -- the flip side of the inexpensive purchase.

I think I will like it better once I get it working (If I ever get it working).
I do have room for 2 more slant tops but I need to get rid of the 3 crappy skill stop machines first. (I hate them machines)

Hey, I think we all might have started with pachi-slo's and to be honest they do have great sound, bells and whistles and use cutting edge technology for the cost. Still have my James Bond deluxe!

My first slot was a pachislo too...and I still own it.  It's still a favorite when people come over and it gets plenty of play...

My Firedrift Pachislo was a gift from my dad, and one of the last slots that I added to my collection. I probably wouldn't have gone out an bought one, but I'm glad that he got it for me. I still enjoy playing it, as do my friends. It has a different pace and objective than the true Vegas slots. I play it to enjoy the Anime, the Japanese and broken English phrases that the characters blurt out, and the music. It's not about the coins.

I bought a Pachislo at a garage sale for $40 and tinkered with it for about a week before I got bored with it.  It's collecting dust in my basement now, and I'm probably going to try and re-sell it.

As far as slant tops, they're more comfortable to play, but they're a  to move around and a  to get into to work on.

some kits require more than 1 glass, RWB for example has a blue reel glass, and the small display glass is blue to match with the accurate number of coins, wild cherry would be red, haywire black etc.
