Hi Tony

Just came accross this info it it might help.....................

clearing a bad ram or on a bally 5000 depends upon which type you have: regular 5000, 5000 plus up to 1991, or 5000 plus 92 and up. some can be done simply by breaking the i/o board loose from the motherboard and holding the psudo coin in switch button in while powering up machine. -battery on cpu must be up to full charge or replace if lithium and not putting out 3.0v.
you will need to reprogram options with a bally keypad.
i have had problems clearing ram on anything after 1992 so i replace program chips u12/u/15 u3/u4 with earlier ones. e-mail for clearing procedure

5000's are not very dependable games, you will need to clear the ram often if you are turning it of and on often, if it sits for a few weeks to a month without being turned on the battery will go dead and then you have to clear the ram again, and all the options are set with a keypad not the machine.

Cheers
