I have a CBA-135-SG Validator made by JCM. I know it is for Canadian currency, but what is the American money equivelant to it.  Is it equivelant to a JCM-200?  It came out of one of my WMS 401 machines. Can a DBV-200 be put in its place without any change of harnesses or cshboxes, etc.

equivalent to a U.S 145 or 200.  the transport is different and I believe some wiring(can't remember 100%) is different as well.  When you have them both you will see what's required.  The entry bezel is different also.

Pretty sure wiring is the same and use a transport out of a Bally 5500  The bezel becomes a problem. Ashyron has the machine, maybe he can post a Pic of the bezel,

I have the Bezel, etc. See the picture below. Does anybody want to trade for a DBV- 200-SG?
So if I understand correctly then that means means I can use the same transport from the CBA-135-SG?

No The CBA uses two wire plugs. DBV one. I think I'm right on this one , the two slots on the chassis, the BV head slids on are wider. I think my Son used the bottom plate off of a CBA head  and mounted a 145 or a 200 SG head to it. another machine he just changed the whole chassis with one out of a 5500. PM me when you are up and about.

The transport is different.  I think I used the bottom plate with minor mods.  The best swap is to change the complete assembly.  The plate the bezel fits into on the door has a small opening on a U.S machine and large opening on a Canadian machine.

Wow, Talk about timing.
This was my exact project for today.
I purchased two Transport assemblies for Williams 40X machines. JCM made two types.

1) was the type where the DBV head screwed directly to the transport assembly with 4 screws.
2) Had a quick disconnect of the DBV head, It had a plate screwed to the DBV head and slid into the transport, held by a large thumb screw.

The two I got were the quick disconnect type. Only one had the lower bracket for the disconnect and both were missing the bracket that screws to the DBV head.
I was able to modify two plates from some CBA heads that I had laying around.
I have two CBA heads that I don't need if someone can use them.

The CBA is wider than the DBV, 71mm instead of 67mm. This carries all the way through the transport and stacker. It's possible to replace the CBA head on a Canadian transport with a DBV head for US currency, but it's not possible to replace a DBV on a US transport with a CBA for Canadian currency, as the paper jams in the stacker. I would change the complete assembly, there's less to go wrong.

Well, the machine that my cba-135 came out of has the Canadian transport, stacker and whatever else goes with it.
So would it just be better to replace the cba-135 witha DBV-200-SG like op-bell says is possible.  Would there be possibility of jamming with this setup?  It sounds like I would need a different harness to connect the 200 head. Am I correct.

I am using a DBV200-SG in my Canadian Wms 401 with the Canadian transport and front bezel. I used the bottom plate that held the old head and drilled extra holes in the bottom of the dbv200 to match, since the screw holes didn't line up. I had to take care to make sure that the final position of the head lined up correctly with the transport before drilling. I also had to cut off the front lip of the dbv200-SG because there was no room behind the Canadian bezel for the lip. The harness in my machine had already been changed out, so I can't speak to that. I've had absolutely no issues with this setup and have had the 200 head in the machine for over two years.

Hi Stat and Mark. Sounds interesting and like a great job Stat.  If you have time a picture of the 200 mounted would be great.

Yes, my bezel is the same. The lip I am referring to is the bill intake on the front of the dbv head. The CBV135 has a flat face, just like the dbv200SS for the IGT. Bally and Wms DBV200s (SG & SH) have a short black plastic ramp that sticks out from the front of the head into which the bills are inserted. This must be cut off if you want to use the Canadian door hardware and bezel. I'll post some pictures shortly.

Note that the bottom of the metal deck that holds the dbv head is smooth with no screw holes and has a hole for a tongue in the back center.

Here is the underside of the dbv head with the special plate attached. Note the two-pronged tongue at the top that fits into the hole on the transport and the two screws securing the plate to the head. I had to drill new holes in the base of the head to match up to these screw holes. The head needs to be carefully aligned with the transport before marking the location of these holes.

Another alternative would be to cannibalize the lower outer shell of the CBV and replace the stock shell of the dbv200. The screw holes would then be in the right place and the head should be correctly aligned, as long as the replacement shell is fitted correctly to the dbv200. This might or might not work in your case.
