Hi all,
Is there any way through the program menus to tell what chip setting you have other then just reading it off the chip? My question is the chipset this unit has is hard to read and I need to know if it takes a 022 or 023 ID. Any ideas? This machine is a Triple Diamond S+.

Press the test button and advance to page 4. The Winner Paid/Credit windows should flash between the SP chip and SS chip numbers. If it is a later SP chip (generally over 1000) you can then check the PSR to determine the DBV protocol ID. The earlier PSRs don't have this information.

If yoou have a DBV200 BV swith 10 will set the BV for ID022 and ID023. So it can work with both protocols. The game chip actually determines the protocol used. Hope this helps.

Then you need to go through the procedure that Statfreak described to get the SP game chip ID number.

Here's a very thorough explanation of the procedure with pictures (on a Triple Diamond machine by coincidence)

Thanks I'll give this a shot...I suppose this applies to slant tops as well? That is what I'm currently working on.

ID 022 is for poker and keno machines. ID 023 is for S+ reel spinners. Ben
