I went through my list and filled in many blanks.  I also changed the excel format(97-03) so that older versions can open it also.

Here it is,

Thanks,

Hi Mike,
The U28 and U43 are mains, almost any set from an S6000 will work.  U18 and U20 are personality chips and are game specific.

Thanks,
Wayne

Thanks for the info....I used a set of mains for my double double jackpot 7s and now i get an error 83FO which says either my proms are bad or my clear chips won't work with those eproms.  could you help me verify my eproms

I suggest you get a set of saferam clear chips, the most current version will do all up to 2007.  Your personality chips are 7441 U18 E650911X-05 DIAMOND LINE 3 COIN 2400 JACKPOT checksum 8800, and 7441 U20 E650911X-05 DIAMOND LINE 3 COIN 2400 JACKPOT Checksum 9278.  They have nothing to do with your saferam clear chips, but the mains do.  The clear chips have to be newer for the newer mains (U28 and U43).

Here is a video I have

Those ones should be good.   Is there a date on your main chips? (U28 and U43)

When you do the clear, press and hold the test and pseudo coin buttons, make sure the display shows CH C  then CL C.  This should clear the code for you.

No date on the mains....very familiar with how to clear the Bally 6000's....just gives me an 83FO code with the mains in or with the clear chips in.  With good rom checksums, I can't understand why I am getting this message.  Could it be a bad board?, or am I missing something. -Mike

Your best recourse is to go into the options and find out exactly what mains you
have then a vendor may be able to supply you with the correct SafeRAM Clear chips.

Here's the other deal that's bugging me and I've had to this myself sometimes
because I used to have clears burned onto a different sized eprom (256K I believe),
the error code of 83FO means that you have the "Wrong Eproms".
I'm thinking you may have to switch the jumper on the socket when
you use the clear chips because they're of a different size?
(Jumpers determine the "size" of the eproms being used.)
Then switch the jumpers back when you re-install your mains?

I thought of that also.  But the mains and the clears are 2 meg and the eproms are factory at 27256....so I have double checked the jumpers.  It is going to be something silly...just troubling me.

2Mb on 256k chips - is that possible?
What's the larger size? 2 megabytes or 256 kilobytes?
My CRS is kickin' in...LOL

It's been a long morning for me!   The U28 and U43 mains are 2 meg chips as well as the U28 and U43 clear chips.  The U18 and the U20 personality chips for my diamond line blazing 7's are 256K's.  They all look factory???  Going to need an energy drink for this this one.  Can't get rid of that 83FO error

JDKMunch had the same problem last year as you have now.
He got new chips from Jim and all was fine after that.
This was the thread>>>

Mysticlamp69 also had this problem.
Sounds like you have old chips or something.
Here's the link to that thread>>>

In my experience with my own Bally, I had to do a complete RAM Clear (hold down psuedo coin and test buttons) and then reinstall the mains, then it worked. Same error 83FXXX

It sounds like mare than a ram clear issue for sure.  You could try swapping the U30 and U45 chips out with the ones from your other board.  I have had this happen when I had a bad set of mains, but the clear went fine.

Thanks,
Wayne

hi Wayne or anyone that can help,

I have a Bally S6000 Pro Slot Bonus Times 2X 5X 10X  and did all the clear chip that you show on the video. It did clear the 83FO on the screen but did not do a reel spin. Where all the button surpose to all flash on. Now the screen is blank. there is no 83F0 anymore. I Can not put any coins in to play. What now? Is the motherboard or the mains (U28 and U43) No good? Any help will be great...

Hi Ted,
I would check the pins in the connectors at the rear of the mpu (main) board.  These pins get bent sometimes.  Did you perform a complete clear?  did the display show during the clear? if the display worked normally (CH C  then CL C)  the lights would flash once the CL C showed.  If this was the case then I would suspect the mains.  If mains are inserted backwards or mixed it can ruin them.  If you have another set of mains you can try them.  check the breakers also.

Thanks and Happy Easter,
Wayne (at the cottage)
