OK, let's start by finding out what happened when the code came up.  Was this during cash out?  how many credits were on it? 34?  when looking at the display, does the 34 alternate with another number such as 52, 50?  I ask these questions since I haven't seen a code 34 on a Bally S6000, 3x codes are Hopper related codes, and usually clear by opening the door, correcting the issue and closing the door. Occasionally the reset button needs to be pressed.

Thanks,
Wayne

24 = Coin Reverse A coin was sensed traveling from bottom to top of the optic block

I hate code 24, since this occur ed without a coin going through the optic block, sometimes the coin optics and prism can be cleaned (with machine off) to clear this, other times it requires a Saferam Clear, or the optic board could be faulty. If you clean the optics and prism, and the code is still there, and have another optic board to try, switch it and try.  A saferam Clear will usually clear this , but if it is a faulty optic board, then the problem will come back. You could try the simple things prior to getting into this, like, pressint the reset button, or,turning the machine off then on again, or opening then closing the door, which I'm sure you've tried already.

Since I clean the optics and prism on my machines, I rarely ever see this code anymore, and when I do it's while shopping the machine so I usually put in a good optic board, and never see it again.

keep us posted,
Thanks,
Wayne

That code prevents someone from putting a coin on a string.

If you decide to clean the optics, DON'T use alcohol. it will eventually damage the optics. Use a cotton swab lightly dampened with clean water and follow with a dry swab. That should be enough to do the job. If the water alone doesn't do the job, add one or two drops of mild soap to some warm water and dip the swab into the weak soap solution, removing the excess before using, then use a wet swab with no soap to rinse, and follow with the dry swab.
