I just bought a used TDS-210 Tektronix LCD scope last month for $450 off a guy in Colorado that had it listed on Craigslist. It's nice and small... and very lightweight.

Yup!

Except mine has a beautiful screen and a power button on it. Wink   It also came with 2 Tektronix brand scope probes.

you might also consider a logic analyzer for the computer based systems.  there are some interesting usb versions of those as well.

I really haven't gotten into it too much just yet because I'm sure there's a lot to learn in that department as well.
I have to do some more reading and see if it's worthwhile for me to get one.
First of all, I don't know a lot about them and how to use them properly to diagnose problems in circuitry.
It's just another tool that I want to get for my workbench...however, I need to learn more about their capabilities.
What good is getting a scope when I may only pick it up once per year?
I want a tool that will be handy for what I do...not just because I think it would be cool to have one.
Shows you how much I know about scopes... rotflmao
Do schematics and drawings give you any ideas how the wavelengths should appear on a scope for instance?
