It sounds like you are having multiple issues with multiple units. It would be best to tackle them one at a time and to describe each issue at hand in detail.

I too have a 3902 board with a coin in jam , meter disconnected error,  Mr Blueridge ( JIM ) tells me it is most likely a bad chip at U 74 on the main board.  I have tryed this board in 5 different GKs and the error follows with the board.

Well statfreak, yes multi issues. I would like to start with the coin in jam. I don't think it's not the I/O cards, I removed the coin collecting part and put in a bypass, I swap the the gameboards with the same software and the coin in jam is gone. I have been told to replace the U74 chip but I dint think I can. if you know how to remove it would you u please explain.
thank you for your input

slotsteve,  the I/O cards are good its just the board, what do you mean by simm not seated right?
thank you for your response

Buzz, yeah my only issue is that i am unfamiliar with how to unsolder when it is only soldier on top, do you have any tips on how to? thanx for your line.

I would like to tell you just how it's done but I have never changed out one of he smaller chips. Truth of the matter I can't even find U 74 on my board. thinking maybe I wrote it down wrong when Jim gave it to me he did say the chip # was MM 74C240 WM Fairchild  P09AB. If your in a big hurry give Joey a call at NLG ( phone # is at top right of every page on this site ) I'm sure he would repair it for you,
