PLEASE HELP!!! I'm going psychotic from pouring through manuals that don't answer the questions I need answered!!  Crazy

Question #1: How to put an IGT PE Plus machine into tournament mode??? Are seperate chips needed for this mode? Or is it just on option in the machine somewhere and we haven't found it yet?? Or are the people I work with who are saying that these machines 'DO have a tornament mode' crazy and there really isn't a tournament mode on these specific machines? (YES THIS ALL ONE QUESTION......SHEESH.)

Question #2: How do you change the denomination on these IGT PE Plus machines?

Any help with these questions will be greatly appreciated.  Hail    If there's a retired IGT Technician out there somewhere who use to work on these machines...I will WORSHIP you forever if you could help me out a little here.  PLEASE.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!

Hi,

Tournament mode, if one exists would be dependant on the chip set of the game

Changing denominations, there is a screen in the test menus, these are accessed by pressing the white button inside the machine, its on the left hand side amonst the connectors. Then turn the jackpot reset key, hopefully you have this, it's the lock on the outside, usually located on the right hand side of the machine towards the top.

In reality all this does is change the number of the coin that is accepted, the actual coin comparitor on the inside of the door holds a sample coin which is uses to decide what coin is accepted. You can just change this, but you need to be careful that the hopper can payout the coins as they are limited to what size and thickness will work with them, although this can I beleive be changed with the correct parts.

Anyone else please chime in if I'm wrong on any of the above.

Thanks for the input Dotster. I don't have to worry about coins or hoppers over here in Oregon. We're restricted to paper money in & ticket out or player cards. Absolutely no coin hoppers are allowed to operate in the casinos in Oregon.

If anyone has any actual instructions w/ or w/out pictures ...that would be great. I won't get my hopes up though.  Hail

I need to know exactly what game chips you have installed so
I can look for the proper manual to help you put your machines into tournament mode.
How much time do you have to do this?
Are they hooked up to back room computers?
Are these upright or slant sit-down type machines?
Also, are they hooked up serially to progressive displays?
If you've answered yes to 2 or more questions...call the help desk at IGT if you are a casino.
They should be very glad to give you instant technical support.
If not, then this will take a little more time to do than you've envisioned.

'Stout', when you say game chips....do you mean like "Triple Diamond", "Wild Cherry"...like that? or do you want actual game chip version numbers??

Depending on which technician you talk to in which state....'game chip' can mean they either want to know what game themes (as I call them) that we have or what version number chips we have.

Chip version numbers will take me a bit to round up....game themes are easy. Which would you like?   wave

I appreciate you helping me.

Okay,
Let me scour through a couple of libraries on this...
in the meantime...see if you can get the game names at least and whether
or not these are upright or slant models you want to put into tourney mode.
Also, get on the horn and call an IGT Tech for some help!
If you're a casino - they SHOULD help you?

I found it!
PM your email and I'll send it out to you.

ADD>> okay, I think I sent you the wrong one...
The one I sent is for S+'s, not PE+'s. Drat!

I'm running into a brick wall because I'm at home here...snowed in.
I'd try the second phone number here and see if you can download a technical manual
on how to set up you machines to put them into tournament mode.

For 24-hour technical assistance and troubleshooting,
or for a glossary of gaming terms, telephone our service hotline at: 1-800-688-7890.

Resistance is futile. You will be emulated.

I answered this in a prior post, but the short answer is below:

PE+ Tournament Mode:
1) Turn and Hold the Jackpot Reset Key
2) While Jackpot Reset Key is held, press the "Change Request" button

The game should flip between tournament and standard mode (and vice-versa).  You do not have to finish the tournament countdown clock, you can do it right away.

Keep in mind that not every chipset has a tournament mode (I personally have only seen tournament mode on PE+ poker games, not slot games, but it's possible that it exists).  In the thread that Stolistic linked to above, we established that the poker program chip XP000035 allows for tournament video poker play with compatible data chips.  I don't know what program chip you'd need to do tournaments on the PE+ slots.

To answer your question about denomination, if you have a bill validator installed you must use a set chip to change the denomination of the machine.  Detailed instructions (with a picture!) on the steps to make the change can be found here.
