IGT S Slot Motherboard Required.

I have an IGT S Slot 5 reel stepper , Made in Australia in 1991.
When I got the slot, the motherboard was stuffed, I tried a friends motherboard and the machine jumped into full working order.
These slots used a USA made motherboard with a single game eprom.
I know the �S Slot� is an old model, Does anyone have one to sell or know a supplier I could email?.
I asked April (Lemans1969) and she has no stock of them.

The mother board is definitely a “S Slot� and not a “S+�

WOW ! a 5 reel. You don't see many of those on the older platforms. Thats a keeper that you want to get running.

May I suggest you click on the various vendors across the top of our home page. Some will take you to ebay but they usually have their phone numbers listed in the ebay add. I would reach out as they usually have parts that are not listed. I would think an S motherboard would fall into that catagory.

That's a very rare machine! I've never seen one in the States.

Jason    I noticed that the board you posted had no battery. did your friends board have a battery??  I don't remember a IGT machine that operated without a battery, I noticed the wire going from the diode to the edge connector, maybe this is a modification??

Welcome to  .  That's a very unique machine you have there, and if it truly is an "S" slot it must never have seen the inside of a casino, as that's one of the cleanest looking machines I've seen (especially for its age!).  That circuit board looks clean enough to eat off of.

If you haven't already, I'd also try posting a "WTB" ("want to buy") topic in the Classifieds section of our forum -- some of the vendors that frequent there may not see your post here.  I'm sure that *someone* somewhere will have a board for you.  Best of luck finding one, and again welcome to the site.

Hi, Thanks for the feedback on the slot.
This "pokie" I got from a drink vending mechanic who had in in the rear of his workshop under a tarp for years.
When he got it , it never worked.
This machine was built in Australia in 1991 and only for the Australia and New Zealand markets. The 5 reel steppers where a huge hit when IGT brought them out in the clubs in New South Wales/ Australia.
This stepper has it's own internal jackpot with a "mini" , a "random" and a "major" in the top art area.

You leagally are allowed to own Pokies in NZ but in Australia it is illegal.

They are for sale everywhere in NZ.

I posted a PDF of the board which I got on NLG a while back.
In the schematic, it is the same board that is in this machine and has no battery.

The boards in the NZ steppers will work on this machine, but this would mean buying the whole machine and that would be a very expensive exercise.
There is currently a "dollar express" stepper for sale, but not working.lol.
I will put a post in the wanted section and see how it fares.
Thanks for the feedback, These machines would kick serious butt in the USA for the player in 1991, and also the collector.
But I would love to get this stepper back into life.

The US version S Slot boards are different, I don't think it will work, In the past machines from NZ and Austr. are not compatible with US machines

Here is an update....
I finally got the Aussie S-Slot working that I had coin errors with.
The coin comparator was incorrectly wired and I had a mate who is an arcade fault tech (finally after 6 months) check it out and now works great.
The only problem it has now is that I cannot get the progressive jackpots to light up and set (see pic of machine above in top art section).
I connected a similar gameboard from NZ with 2 progressives on it and the progressive section operated as it should.

When I got the machine, the progressives were lit up with values but since it had a “bad cmos ram� and the white test button was held in for 5 seconds , the progressives have disappeared.

The S-Slot only has a game eprom on it.
I heard from a tech in NZ that there “used to be� an eprom, when installed in the motherboard would allow to set the progressive section.
I have asked around and no one has it.
someone might know have such a chip?
Are there any S-Slot machines in USA that have a progressive Jackpot on it, is there an eprom to set that up?
I am hoping that someone or a slot Tech in Australia/ New Zealand / USA may be able to help out.

My experience hales from the S+ - the IGT progressive that I am familar with, hung down from the top of the cabinet and displayed a value behind one of the removeable pay glass stickers.
To program these you would set the values by selecting the right grouping (using the white button) and then advancing the values using the spin reel and bet 1 buttons.

On the S+ this board plugs into a harness in the top box and there was nothing special on the MPU board. I would suspect that if your progressive was previously lit then you need no additional chips.
