So I just acquired a CPU/NXT board and upgrade kit. I plan on upgrading my old 550 machine to CPU/NXT.  My 550 is a coin in machine with bill validator as well. Will I have any issues installing this board since I havent seen any Bluebirds take coins? I'd rather disable the coin comparitor rather than get a new one/upgrade. Any other issues people have experienced in their own upgrades? I also plan on getting a LCD monitor from Happ also.  Thanks for the info! I'd hate to mess anything up since everything is so expensive!

The only thing is the coin comparitor. Has to be a MC-40 or Imonex X-10, but if you disable it, yyou should be OK. I just got a MC-40.

Ok, thanks for the replies! I think I'll just disable it for now.

Out of curiosity what did your "upgrade kit" contain?  If it did not come with an Aux power cable, you REALLY need to get one to avoid instability issues.

You might want to read up on my original 55x/36x upgrade thread.

There's also a thread with the LCD upgrade

The Upgrade Kit contained the Board with 512MB memory card, new power supply to replace old power supply and new power supply wires to power the board, a belly lock kit, a new bill validator wire, and a new door for where the board is. I separately had to acquire the jurisdiction chip and bios for the CPU/NXT board, and the games and OS of course. So basically items 1-5 of your previous "conversion notes and findings" post.

hello guys !!

just wondering around and I found this topic which is very interesting to me right know , as I'm planning to upgrade our WMS 550 slots to a more stable slot and Iยดm saying this  because of our cashless system SAS version(EFT has some issues), so I want to know if the upgraded NXT board supports game OS family 1480 versions, so far I have not seen other game OS version but this that works whit no problems whit our cashless system.

what do you all guys know about this!!!!.

any advice will be very welcome!!

thanks.
