Yep. I was referring to the output of the magentron.

Have your kids pay for the electricity they use. Hell, my kid just handed me $8 towards his new crane machine. He wanted it so I told him he'd have to pay me back for it if we bought it. He's paying for the crane and the parts needed to make it whole. I did the labor for free.

I'm mean, I know, but my kid has to learn the value of a dollar somehow AND learn how credit works. Wink

I thought you might just make him put in quarters. That way you not only cover your costs but potentially create a profit.
You would also be teaching him about business as he could optionally bring his friends over to play.

This is how I grew up also, my parents were what I call "survivors", they would buy at auctions or yard/garage sales and sell at flea markets to make ends meet, I was there along side of them selling the toys and other things that I would buy.  Too many parents just give their children money these days, without understanding the work involved or the value of it, they aren't as well prepared for the world.  We all want to "spoil" our children at times, but not all the time.

Thanks,
Wayne

Do you think it is part female DNA to leave the lights on???   -  Actually I did a ton of stuff to make our house energy efficient.   Last year our energy usage went down by 40% -   NOW  ConEd (our energy company) raised the rates - REVENUE WAS DOWN BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE CONSERVING!!!!!!!!

Now I just don't care and leave all the lights on, the heat up to 78 and my slots on all day.   F**k them -  You try to save money and get slammed.

Sorry but this is the rant section right

Ranting and raving is O.K., personal attacks on members or their countries are out of bounds.

Even if you didn't make your energy saving efforts, they likely would have hiked the rates.  Companies that have a monopoly on things that we need always like to jack up the profits.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/5Gdg67hZPds&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/5Gdg67hZPds&rel=0</a>

The cottage was great, a lot of the snow melted away, but we got some fresh snow.  The trails were hard ice with about 5 to 10 more inches of groomed snow on top.  Some of the ditch trails had bare grass patches also.  I uploaded a short video that my wife took of me on my performance sled.  The deck has about 18" of snow on it.

Thanks,
Wayne

When I was a young lad we'd go to Hume, NY (probably won't find it on many maps, too small) and ride snowmobiles. In the winter on the snow, in the summer on the grass!

What's a reasonable price to get a crane similar to the one you pictured?

In working condition they were going from $100 to $250 each at the auction.

Check around you for arcade game auctions. One place is www.superauctions.com. They have auctions in different parts of the US.

That's pretty good.  My 6 year old loves the crane games, never wins anything, but it always cost me around $3 worth of play EVERYTIME we see one.  I'll have to look it up.  It will also give me a good place to put all his stuffed toys, this is going to be the argument for the wife.  Just think of all that re-claimed closet space!!!!
