Looks like a CHAM-2, but has eight RELAY inputs and a small alpha display right on the corner of the board.
Another rescue from the outbound trashcan, glad i saw it and power supply.....

I think it was Op-Bell or channelmaniac (Please pardon me as I've forgotten whom sent me the link to the Avago display)
that told me about those Avago Alphanumeric Displays boards up in the corner there.
I have one but it requires that board for it to work...
It was used so you could see what you programmed into the logic board without
having to peer out or go across the room to see what you've inputted to the board on the actual display panel.
I have no idea if it needs a CON2 or PSP V2.xxx to make it actually work.
It's a real neat winter project for someone to jump on though!

If that's what I think it is, that's something really cool!

Purely guessing, but I think that JPTD stands for Jackpot Trigger Device.  A device used to link a bunch of machines in a bank with a mystery progressive.  You know those banks of machines at the casino that have a jackpot guaranteed to hit between $25 and $75?  This controller would keep track of the coin-in pulses from the linked machines, and send out a winning data message to the winning machine when the mystery threshold was hit.

Again, it's just a guess, and it's possible that it can do more, less, or different things from what I described.

The label on the left implies that it's some kind of electro-mechanical relay setup.

Are you sure those are relays in and not out.

It was my understanding that these interface with a CON1 and/or CON2 and trigger events based on a progressive win.
Confitee cannons, light shows, frozen turkeys dropping from the sky (oh wait that was WKRP) well you get the picture.

I haven't met a Jackpot that I didn't like!!!

« Reply #6 on: January 19, 2010, 06:56:52 AM »

Jay wins the prize here as it is a Jackpot Trigger Device that will trigger auxillary items to actuate on a progressive win. Like he said, confetti cannon, light, siren, bell, etc....

If you search there is a thread that has some more details about this somewhere here.

Actually no, I don't have one of those...would be kinda neat though...lol
I just use the bell out from the motherboard attached to a regular relay to set off things... Tongue Out
What is really growing on me is a simple  S+ mod I did but haven't documented yet.
When it goes into a hand-pay mode, this machine kicks a relay into gear and gets my LED rope light going!
I drilled evenly spaced holes all the way around reel glass into the door frame and installed tiny plastic LED holders into the holes.
Behind it inside the door frame around the reel glass is the LED lights.
When you win something, the machine really shines with brightly lit flashing colored LEDs...
now I need to add a small LED chaser unit.... stir the pot / get cooking

When you win though...the whole lighting effect is really cool looking! yes

I would hook up a ambulance siren, that will get your blood going! 120 DB of any sound will get you moving.

My Bonus Sizzling 7  has a siren that goes off when you win. But I think it's about 10 DBs.  rotflmao

Bunko when you find and inexpensive LED chaser circuit let me know. I was looking to do something similar.

I was also looking for a sound generator that could either play the same sound every time or one that would play a different sound each time.

Instead of hooking up a 3 LEDs chase sequence I was looking to hook up 3 different colored rope lights. I was also looking to trig the sound generator at the same time.
The rope lights were going to be under my 10ft sign and I would set the S+ to ring on all pays. I would use an old set of amplified PC speakers rather than the tinny dime store pizeo electric they usually have on those things.

Ideally on a pay the lights would run and I would get a sound like hitting the Daily-double on Jepordy.

On the line of sound generators they use to sell these stress boxes that had the sound of machine guns, bombs, etc with 3 or 4 different buttons. One of the kids in the school ran this through his car amp and put a huge speaker under the hood and as soon as someone annoyed him he would press the button. He also installed aircraft landing lights in his backup lights, So when someone ticked him off from behind he could blind the other driver (not too responsible when you think back on it). These were brighter than his headlights and he had to install a second alternator just to drive them. Other mods included hooking up a super soaker (battery powered water gun) under the hood so he could soak down other kids. More money than brains....
