Error 31

Hello, i need some help with my IGT Red White Blue, slot machine, since yesterday i had a little problem with my hopper because some coins was block them, then i unlock them, but the error 31 continue. I have allready test the hopper with the test botton and it works, and the error 31 continues there, what i can do to solve this problem?

I believe you mean 3100 error.

I did have a person that thought they had an error but it was showing the coins that were paid out by the hopper.  When they told me the code, it was an odd one that I hadn't heard of.  I put coins in and played the machine and their problem was solved.

Do you have Clear and Set chips?

I would like to add that he is only seeing "31".
There is no error "31" on a S+ slot machine.
The only possible error would be "3100"....with that in mind, the REAL question is...why are the the double zero's missing?
The display board chip/s may be corrupted?  Blown LED's perhaps?
It is very possible that he needs to clear the ram with a "CLEAR chip"....or plug in a known "good" display panel to
try and determine if the problem lies with either the panel board or corrupted memory.

Thanks very much, but the problem percsists, as you can see in the picture the error is 31 and it flashed with the 0. As you can see in picture 3 all leds are ok.
One question, how  does ram clear works? Where can i buy it? Do you think is the solution to my problem?

If the error is a 21, check the comparitor for blocked coins then check the wire connections to the optics board below the comparitor, then check the board itself for dirt/obstruction. All the times I have got that error I had to replace the coin in optics board. There is a way to check ithe board though with cameras, maybe someone else you knows better can chime in here. If its a bad optics board any of the vendors listed at the top of the page can help.

My mistake, the error is 31 (as you can see in first pic) and not 21 as i wrote before. Thanks

I am thinking now that it is NOT an error, rather it may be the " Progressive Option Selection <0>[31] under the "set chip options" pages?
What we need to know now is the chip number.
Try pressing the little white test switch. It's located either on the motherboard case or around the power switch.
When you press the reset switch, watch the display panel and keep pressing it until the display panel goes completely blank.
That way, you will know that the options mode is turned off.
Close the door and play one complete game.
Then you should be good to go.

I had one of these wierd errors before when the door optics went bad.

The "Clear" chip (ivc103 is one) is used to clear out the machines memory including errors and game settings, then the set(set90 is one) is used to set up the options such as bill validator and country.

Ask one of the vendors at the top of the page and I'm sure they can sell you a set.  Every slot owner should have a set.  It can't hurt to try.

Is this the only IGT machine you have?

Clicking in reset botton for few seconds doesnt work... i will try buying the clear chip, then i will post here the result.

Did it by chance pay out 31 coins before you had the problem with the hopper?

While you're waiting on the clear chip (which isn't a bad thing to have on hand even if you don't wind up needing it right now), try powering the machine off, remove the hopper, make sure that all of the contacts in the plug for the hopper look good, then firmly slide the hopper back in.  Power the machine back up and close the door.  Does anything happen?  Are either of the lights on the candle flashing?

Nops, it pays 200 coins, not 31.

How can i see if the door optics are ok?

1 Open door
2 Press self test until you see 1 in coins played you will see 10 1
3 Turn jp key until winner paid changes to 13 0
4 Close door all the way, the winner paid should quickly alternate between 13 0 and 13 1 if optics are working correctly.

You can leave the door open and shine a flashlight into the receiver that is on the cabinet. when flashlight is aimed at the receiver it will change to 13 1.
The emitter is on the door, can test it with a digital camera or cell phone camera, it will show up as a bright white light.

Note to exit input and output test modes you must use the test switch. closing door will not work.

It only shows 13 0 and do not alternate between 13 1 i try as you say with door closed and with white flash lamp from my mobile. I have allready check all the conection and they are all in good conditions. Do you think i will need another optics? Is it normal they fail?

As I said previously, I've had some (optics) fail before, but it doesn't seem to happen very often.  The IGT S Plus machines are very robust, but like everything, you have to buy some parts now and then.  Optics aren't very expensive and I'm sure one of the vendors here could sell you a set.  I would reccomend that you get a Clear and Set chip also, they are very inexpensive and every slot owner should have them.

Any second opinions?

The machine is now working, thanks to all that help me.
The problem was in one of the door optic, in the bill validator, one of connector is disconected as you can see in the attach.

I always remove that switch and solder those two wires together.
