HOWDY,  just found this site a couple days ago.  I have been into older slots for several years now.  Worked on many old Mills and Jennings.  But picked up a IGT S-Plus with the 4th of July game on it.  Had a few bugs with the reels and door optics.  Got that figured out.  Now back to the forums with more questions!!!  Looks like a good and active site here!!!!!!

(edited to add that I live in San Marcos, California.  San Diego county.  I am a mechanic at a plant nursery.)

I followed a link to here when looking for a part for our IGT bartop monitors. The information I found was very helpful.

Welcome to  nlg.  I own a couple of IGT PE+ bartop machines myself.  I'm currently working with a friend on converting the monitors in them to VGA LCD panels.  We're close, but not quite there yet.

Kevin,

RJ recommended this board as a LCD inverter. I haven't tried it myself but for $25.00 it might be the shortest distance between two points.

If it works out for you let me know as a LCD conversion is on my list of things to do....

Jay-

Thanks -- I'll try contacting them.  I'm not sure that the board you linked to will do the trick, though, since (as far as we know) the PE+ outputs 15k CGA video, and needs to be converted to 30k VGA.  We're trying to use a board that is supposed to do the conversion, but we're stuck on (we think) a sync issue.  Hopefully should be able to make some progress after my upcoming Vegas trip.

Most LCD VGA monitors these days are multisync.
I just looked up the specs on mine and the lower end is 23K so the 15k may still present a problem.

What is the game plan for Vegas ?

What is the game plan for Vegas ?

Gamble, drink, eat too much, repeat.  arrow

I hope to make it over to Kirk's place for at least a couple of hours.  Beyond that, we don't have a set schedule for much of anything.  We're staying at the M Resort for two nights, El Cortez for three nights, and the Golden Nugget for three nights.  I bought tickets to Cirque du Soiel's "KA" at MGM Grand for while we're there.  Also there's going to be the lighting of the nation's tallest Christmas tree while we're staying at M.

It's gotten really cold here in Minnesota over the past week -- we're escaping to 60-degree temperatures in Vegas just in time.  Smiley

When I left for work today it was -33C  (-27f), and got down to -56c (-68) over night.
THe high today was -26c (-14f).
We have about 1.5feet of snow on the ground.... frozen.....we won't get any more snow until it warms up.....
TOO COLD FOR SNOW !

"bring a sweater" sounds like a little slice of heaven right now.

Bill,

Frozen Bundle Up Frozen in Snow

I am not used to seeing that there! The only mountain that I remember up there is Mountain Mike's Pizza!  bust gut laughing bust gut laughing bust gut laughing

Like I said our cold is very relative compared to others! We are in the lower 40's and dropping, which is cold for us. My family is trying to convince me to come home for the holidays, but I am not sure. Reno/Sparks just got more snow than normal in one storm, over 12 inches! And the current temp is 1 degree and dropping right now. They are still trying to convince me, so I give them credit for trying!

It'll be *near* 60!  Smiley  That's better than the below zero (farenheit) temps that we're supposed to get here in Minnesota tonight.
