Thanks for the forum, lots of information here! I am a proud new owner of an IGT Triple/Double Diamond. Anyone have any pointers for maintenance, manuals etc..?

Congrats and welcome to NLG!

New here to NLG and already it's been invaluable!!  I just picked up an IGT Double Diamond "S" slot (1988) in EXTREMELY good condition with stand.  I guess the "S" slots use RSXXXX EPROM's instead of the SSXXXX EPROM's.  I was wondering if anyone had a "clear" chip for this machine?

Thanks

Hey guys,

New to NLG here! Just wanted to introduce myself! I'm Jimmy, a big slot fan. I own a home arcade with a few pinball machines and a pachislo, I'm hoping to expand that to a slot or two (maybe a Reels O' Dublin or a WMS top star when they become available... I love transmissive reels for some reason Tongue)

I also plan to build my own slot at some point. I'm a software engineer by trade, so I love to tinker. I'm not sure at this point whether or not I'll assemble one from parts with its native motherboard, or whether or not I'll use slot parts and replace the motherboard with a custom board for custom rules. I suppose it depends on how complicated it is to drive the stepper motors of WMS 5 reel assemblies (or IGT).

Regardless, thanks for the forum! It has a LOT of great information!

  NLG Welcome

You come to the right place where we share information and learn new things all the time. yes

Right now transmissive reels are scarce as "hen teeth". We all hope they will become available to the home market
at a reasonable prices soon.

Thanks for the warm welcome Ron Smiley

I agree about the scarcity of transmissive reel games for the home market. However I see that southern slots has transmissive 5 reel screens and WMS 5 reel assemblies, and provided that the reel assembly could be controlled by a stepper motor and the display is a standard DVI/VGA/HDMI connected display, then I might be able to make it work. If the connection to the display and/or reels is a custom ribbon cable, then I might have issues. (Obviously this would be a thread in and of itself)

I agree that I'm in the right place as far as learning goes! Thanks again for the welcome Smiley

Hi. I'm Jim.

I recently bought an IGT S+ Hot Peppers machine for my wife as a Valentines/Anniversary present. She really loves slots, and has always wanted to own a real one. We got married in Las Vegas, and I literally had to pry her away from the slots so we wouldn't miss our appointment to get married!

I favor slots with actual reels and tokens/coins rather that the video machines with ticket printers that are prevalent in the casinos today. Guess I'm nostalgic for the Las Vegas of the 70's and 80's that I remember! I'm glad to have the chance to preserve some of that gaming history!

I found this site when I caused a wheel tilt that wouldn't clear... So this forum has already saved my bacon once!

While new to gaming machines, I do have a 35+ year background in electronics, computers, and some electromechanical as well. But, like anything new, I'm finding that the more I learn about slot machines, the more I have to learn!

My other hobbies include playing ukulele, building guitars and ukuleles, and brewing homemade beer. I work as a computer analyst providing corporate infrastructure support (network services and remote management) for Macintosh computers.

I'm looking forward to learning more about these fun machines!

Hi All- new to the forum and as a slot owner! I was given a machine by a friend who moved to the sunny south and ditched NY Winters!!!
Its a double diamond and it came with a broken part- Can anyone help me to get this piece repaired/replaced so I can start enjoying the machine. It is located directly behind where the swing door latches. Thanks- Micky

Welcome to NLG micky993

You can post your questions in "IGT 2000 and Vision Games or IGT S and S+ Reel Games
depends which machine you have. Also a picture might help.

Chop Chop,

Good to see you here, look around and feel free to ask any questions you may have. There is a classifieds area for things you may want to buy or sell, plus individual topic forums for a variety of things like different brands of slot machines, video poker machines, display/monitor repair, manuals and other documentation, etc.
