I am (futile as it may seem) searching for some MPU4 reels that can be found on the left side of the Atlantic.  I need to replace two of them in my Barcrest "Sunset" that have warped to the point of being embarrassing when the handle is pulled.  Amazingly enough, they still turn and register properly but they have to go.  I just need the reels but am willing to buy the entire assembly if that's what it takes.  Are there any sources in the states for these?  All the ones I have managed to locate are in the UK.

I'll post pics when I get the chance

Hi Dave,

I had the same prob with my Little Devil barcrest top reels.  Ended up making my own.  Scanned them, cleaned them up and had Kinko's print them on their Back Lit Sign material.  Worked out pretty nice though time consuming for me.

Good luck.

Unfortunately, it's not the reel strips that are the issue, it's the reels themselves.  It's kinda like they were mounted about 5 degrees off of center so the wheels wobble quite a bit while they're spinning.  Thanks anyhow but it's not going to be that easy.

Why not just order them from Starpoint in England? It's a nuisance I know, but their representative over here is Happ Controls, so the shipping from England should be cheaper.  bust gut laughing

Failing that, depending on what motor they have, WMS and Konami use Starpoint reels, so you may be able to get those spares more easily. You may be able to just get the cages, which would be much cheaper than with the motors and frames.
