Was doing some work on my PE logic board, plugged it back in, turned the machine on, all's well then the monitor faded to black.

Then it came back all distorted/out of focus. I suspected the monitor so I did the Zanen Electronics "get well kit", and that didn't help. Still dark as night.

I'm assuming my logic board is shot. It's a 7570260. And I know of NO replacements.

Can I just convert this hunk'o'junk to a PE+?

What are the components in the "get well kit"? Can you post a picture of the monitor with the distortion? The picture would give users a better idea as to whether it is a monitor problem or a problem on the logic board. Please Post Pictures

It's just plain black now, doesn't even come up anymore. The "Get Well Kit" replaces all the electrolytic capacitors on the monitor board with the exception of the 4 large filter capacitors.

I am getting high voltage on the monitor as I can hear it charge up and discharge when it's powered on and off.

on those 1492s ive replaced alot of the large filter caps. they will cause all sorts off odd problems, mostly it will cause a large black bar in one side of the screen, or blackout. try replacing those if firebirds tips didnt help, kind of sounds like a monitor problem to me. i have some 1492 chassis for sale:
