Fruit machine my tail feathers !!

« on: July 14, 2010, 12:43:31 PM »

Hi

If I have a in line surge suppressor between the wall plug and the machine. What are the risks or problems associated with turning the machine off by using the switch on the surge suppressor instead of the switch inside the machine. I know I wouldn't do this with a computer because of the housekeeping the computer needs to do. Do the S2000's need to do some things internally before shutting down?

No. There are no issues using the surge suppressor power switch.

My S2000 is connected to a Furman, Surge- power conditioner & I only  use the Furman to turn on or off the Machine.
If their is a lot of lightning I turn off the furman. I don't want to test the warranty to see how good it  is.

I have a remote control to turn my games on and off.  It's attached to a surge supressor.  I don't like opening the games to turn them on and off because sometimes they bite me and I don't likt that bawling

Ashyron

That is nearly exactly what I am planning to do, only with a timer. It is the most expensive night light I've ever had. But I do need to have it go off sometime so the birds can get their beauty sleep.
