Are there any experts out there that can provide information on whether or not it is possible to take an original BB1 machine and only swap out the CPU board/enclosure with a BB2 CPU?  I have seen the new BB2 machines in the casinos but they have animated LED buttons and many, if not all, appear to have wider touch screens. I have a librarary of BB1 games that I would like to continue to play on the upgraded CPU along with the new BB2 games. Is a BB2 CPU backwards compatible with all/some BB1 games? Do BB2 games that are played on the wider screen resize to the smaller BB1 screen? Are the old fashioned lamp indicated buttons compatible with a BB2 CPU? Finally, my machine has an 'extra bet button'. Is this button compatible with the BB2 as well.  The WMS website talks about how BBs have an easy migration path from BB1 to BB2, but obviously no specifics to casual readers without an account with WMS.

Anyone with experience or knowledge on this topic?

Thanks,

From what I understand, you can just swap CPU board/enclosure. Everything else is peripherals connected to a passive backplane.  THe OLED button panels are not BB1 compatible, you need to have a BB2 system.  You can continue to run your bb1 software on a BB2 system.  The old button panel works as well on the bb2.

Actually, the OLED button deck will work with a BB1 CPU......as long as you are using and SG OS with it.
