I have a bally s6000 and the candle service light is blinking. When I open the door I get a 50.39 code which I believe is ticket printer low ? is this correct and how can I get it to stop blinking. I do have a ticket printer but there is tickets in the holder. Thanks

That appears to be correct. According to the manual, 5 .39 is a low paper message. You said there were tickets in the holder but didn't indicate how many. If you're sure that you have enough tickets* and the error code doesn't clear when you close the door and play one game, then my first thought would be that the sensor itself is bad.

The manual doesn't seem to specify specific input tests for every sensor like the S+ does, so other than using option 04d (press the test button to get there) to run a general test on the printer, you might have to wait for a member with specific knowledge about your printer to help you test it further.

* There are also at least three types of printers (two Ithaca and one Seiko) and they are quite different – including the location of the sensors, so it would be a good idea for you to identify which printer you have and post back.

most of the machines i got from casinos have a 3/8 inch thick piece of plexiglass in under the paper so that low paper condition what not trigger. and they will print till the last piece is used. and not give the low paper error

I have at least 1" of tickets in the holder and my code still is 50.39. I can still play the machine but the light just wont stop blinking ???? I am going to check the dip switch settings on the printer, maybe that has something to do with it.

I checked my printer dip switched and they are the same as my other machines and I still get the 50.39 in on the win paid display and the top light of the candle continues to blink even though the machine plays no problem.  Anyone ?????

This is what the manual says but how do you reset, I have tried the reset button, holding it for over 10 seconds.

5x-39 Printer Low. The paper sensor has detected a low paper condition.

Ok...... I figured it out, there is an optical sensor on the lower left front side of the ticket tray. I put a piece of masking tape over the hole to simulate tickets and the error and service light stopped, now I just have to find out why my tickets aren't giving the right signal ??? maybe there to glossy ???

Pull the tape off and see if the error comes back.
Optics normally work in pairs.
One will be an emitter optic while the other will be a receiver optic.
Bally's sometimes used a prism to return the beam to the receiver optic.
It is prevalent behind the coin comparator bracket...but I don't think
the printers used a prism.
It is highly unlikely that glossy printer paper can direct a light beam that way.
