Wild thing !

« on: March 18, 2009, 10:59:10 PM »

I just got 3 new (new to me) 2000's and did a stupid thing, I ran cash through the bill slot a few times and have lots of credits, but the machines keep hitting big adding credits and they are getting really high, I don't want to put 3000 or more quarters in the hopper , and I hope I don't hit the cash out button by mistake. Is there an easy way to make the s2000 clear the credits .  I set the limits to max so we could play endlessly and got carried away.

Oh, another thing I did was put a 100 ohm (10k 47k and 10ohm all did't work) resistor in line with the speaker wire to cut back on a buzz/humm noise , someone before me removed the amp out of the loop and wired the speakers direct.  Plus I added a toggle switch in the botton of the left speaker to kill the sound when the baby is sleeping.

I'm a newbe, so be gentle with an answer.

Hello and welcome to NLG!

The quick answer.....no.

You could lower the hopper limits, but I believe you can't change those settings while the machine has credits on it.  If you had a clear chip - you could clear the whole machine...but from what I understand it can be tricky getting all the settings configured right after a clear because the clear resets everthing.  I've never done it and wouldn't suggest it to clear credits.  If your machine has a printer and it was enabled correctly, you could just cash out to a ticket, but if you don't already have this setup I don't think you will have any luck with that.

Now that I think of it...if I remember right, putting in a different game prom wipes out any credits on the machine.  Do you have any other game proms or kits?  You would basically change the game prom, clear all the errors and then put your original game prom back in.  BUT, of course you would have to have another game prom Smiley  You mention you got 3 machines - you could pull the game prom from one of the other machines - but again, I don't know that I would suggest this just to clear the credits.   Would probably just be easier and safer to keep refilling the hopper.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Sounds like a good idea swapping SB.  changed games before that had credits and just the typical errors that a turn of the key will take care of and back up and running.

easy way to clear credits and logs is to swap the static ram chips on the mpu, U18 and U45.  will go into a ram error that requires turning the reset key a few times but doesn't lose any secure settings like par, validation, etc.
good luck and enjoy the new to you games!!

Just a contrary opinion here......

Most machines have their hopper limits set for either 400 or 1000 coins.
There is usually a sticker that says something like Max 400 Coin hopper payout all others paid by cashier ....

So if you hit the Cash out. You would run through about 400 to 1000 coins and then the machine would go into a hand pay.
At which point you then turn the jackpot reset key and it goes back down to 0.

Of course some people have the hopper limit jacked up high. Mine is set to 100.

I concur - you can't change your hopper limit until you have 0 credits.

Thought:
...but you could LOOK at the hopper limit in the settings to find out how many coins would be paid out if you pressed "Cash out". That might help you decide how to proceed.

Well, I didn't say that, but.....

actually, Martha was not from right here, she was from VA but the point I was making is that Ferry Farm, Geo Wash boyhood home until he was 17 is just across the river from here, I don't think he could throw a rock and hit my door, but even I could walk there without any problem
