I change MPU and I/O board already, but still a problem. does anyone have a solution ? Cheers, Berto resanberto(%)hotmail.com Title: Re: Bally 5000 (wild) problem Post by: jdkmunch on February 14, 2009, 10:03:54 PM I would run through the input tests and make sure the buttons are working properly. There may be something wrong with the spin switch.

There may be something wrong with the spin switch. I dunno... I have a 3 coin machine that will sporadically spin after the first coin is inserted, and the switches and switch harness aren't the problem. I never did figure out why the machine does this. On mine it can happen regardless of whether you drop coins or press the bet one button, and it can go dozens of spins with no problem and then show up every third spin. I'd be very glad to have an answer to this issue as well. Title: Re: Bally 5000 (wild) problem Post by: blueridgeslots on February 15, 2009, 01:52:07 AM Handle Optic ????
Title: Re: Bally 5000 (wild) problem Post by: StatFreak on February 15, 2009, 02:44:49 AM Handle Optic ???? My machine doesn't have a handle. :96- But I have thought that it could be that the light wand optic was slightly misaligned. I'm not sure how I'd test that though. :103- Resanberto might want to check his handle optic. :79- Title: Re: Bally 5000 (wild) problem Post by: jdkmunch on February 15, 2009, 03:14:46 AM That's insane!!! There's got to be an answer.... Can you swap out the light wand optic?

I don't mess with the wand! :81- :58- It's custom and I doubt that there would be any replacement parts out there if I f*(d it up. :60- The fact that it's an intermittent problem doesn't help matters either. Title: Re: Bally 5000 (wild) problem Post by: jdkmunch on February 15, 2009, 03:33:18 AM oh If that's the case I wouldn't touch it either -- I would rather have a slot that triggers prematurely that none at all!
There doesn't seem to be a graphic for that.. hmm :97- :97- :97- Title: Re: Bally 5000 (wild) problem Post by: StatFreak on February 15, 2009, 03:46:22 AM I solved it by doing what resanberto did: I set the machine to not autospin on max bet. Now I always press Bet Max - that never malfunctions. Then I either press Spin, or wave my hand through the wand. That way I can still use the wand without having to bet one at a time.
Title: Re: Bally 5000 (wild) problem Post by: resanberto on February 15, 2009, 07:04:17 AM lol....i checked everything i could switches ,wiring...
and the autospin on maxbet was always disabled. but still the machine spin with 1 or 3 coins inserted. Berto resanberto(#)hotmail.com email address changed by mod to keep spambots at bay. Berto resanberto(#)hotmail.com Can you be more specific? Does it do this on every spin, or just sometimes like my machine? If it always spins with 1 coin then how do you get to 3 coins? Does it happen when you press the "Bet One" button, when you drop coins into the machine, or both? Title: Re: Bally 5000 (wild) problem Post by: resanberto on February 15, 2009, 07:27:30 AM its a interm. problem..

Have you checked the handle optic like blueridgeslots suggested? It will be easier for you to check it than it will for me. (I don't think that it is the problem, but it's best to make sure.) Title: Re: Bally 5000 (wild) problem Post by: blueridgeslots on February 15, 2009, 09:14:52 AM On the 5000 there is an optic board not a microswitch like on most, very common to go bad on the 5000, usually the other way, won't spin, there is a paper insulator that dries up and is brittle as well, light effects the Bally opto's as well
