I would run through the input tests and make sure the buttons are working properly.  There may be something wrong with the spin switch.

I dunno... I have a 3 coin machine that will sporadically spin after the first coin is inserted, and the switches and switch harness aren't the problem. I never did figure out why the machine does this. On mine it can happen regardless of whether you drop coins or press the bet one button, and it can go dozens of spins with no problem and then show up every third spin.

I'd be very glad to have an answer to this issue as well.

Handle Optic ????

My machine doesn't have a handle.  Tongue Out  But I have thought that it could be that the light wand optic was slightly misaligned. I'm not sure how I'd test that though. Scratch Head

Resanberto might want to check his handle optic. stir the pot / get cooking

I don't mess with the wand!  ttth muted  It's custom and I doubt that there would be any replacement parts out there if I f*(d it up. no

The fact that it's an intermittent problem doesn't help matters either.

oh  If that's the case I wouldn't touch it either --   I would rather have a slot that triggers prematurely that none at all!

There doesn't seem to be a graphic for that.. hmm  bust gut laughing bust gut laughing bust gut laughing

I solved it by doing what resanberto did: I set the machine to not autospin on max bet. Now I always press Bet Max - that never malfunctions. Then I either press Spin, or wave my hand through the wand. That way I can still use the wand without having to bet one at a time.

Can you be more specific? Does it do this on every spin, or just sometimes like my machine? If it always spins with 1 coin then how do you get to 3 coins? Does it happen when you press the "Bet One" button, when you drop coins into the machine, or both?

So it seems that we both have the same problem.

Have you checked the handle optic like blueridgeslots suggested? It will be easier for you to check it than it will for me. (I don't think that it is the problem, but it's best to make sure.)

On the 5000 there is an optic board not a microswitch like on most, very common to go bad on the 5000, usually the other way, won't spin, there is a paper insulator that dries up and is brittle as well, light effects the Bally opto's as well
