Not aware of anything other than Enhanced Validation and Redemption.
When I switch the primary SAS channel to 3 (rs232 port and using a straight usb-rs232), all works fine. Back to channel 2 and ttl, I only receive.

Do you know what else must be enabled? I can search for the equivalent in the KeyChip menu.

Suggestions are welcome. I'm running out...

Not sure about the GK, but is it set up to actually accept the commands? I know on the S+ there are a few different settings that need to be enabled.

No go  no

I've pulled the VCC line (USB-TTL to pin 7 on the DCS) and wired an external 5v power supply (2A). So... from the external power supply, VCC on DCS pin 7 and ground on DCS pin 3 (which is shorted to pin 2, according to IGT manual). Pin 2 is still connected to GND in the USB-TTL.

This way, I'm powering the DCS interface independently and have a common ground. I can still receive data (machine SAS address) but nothing transmitted (nothing shows on COMM ANALYZER). The TX LED on my USB-TTL is alive, but the vgm does not react/receive.
When I pulled the external 5v power, I stop receiving, which tells me that the interface is properly powered.  Scratch Head
I've tried also using a pull up resistor (750) on the SDO line as instructed by the IGT manual. RX works fine, just to rule it out.

Suggestions are welcome. I'm running out...

I am having trouble with my pot o gold 580 machine when powering up. When I turn it on, the box which says "No Signal" comes on for a quick second and goes straight to the power up test screen. It then loads to the game selection screen. If I was to either put money in the bill acceptor or touch the screen anywhere it would automatically black out the screen and goes back to the power up test screen again and again. I'm not sure if there's a loose connection or if the bill acceptor is the problem since it always happens when I insert a bill. Also after inserting a bill, the bill sometimes does not go into the money box and just lays on the outside of the box where its supposed to push in. If anyone has ever come across this issue and have resolved it, I would appreciate your expertise on it very much.

Thanks a bunch on that info, I saw the blue red wire and was wondering exactly how it was supposed to be utilized. I have more coin mechs and I see if I have anything that will work.
Got the entire machine apart and redoing the wiper boards right now, Finding many incorrect and extra wires that were run but a lack of any useful ones. nightmare starts with different colored wires run between beau plugs from reels to hopper! even sliced wires between them too! really makes for a confusing troubleshoot when wires are disconnected and left hidden in the loom that's wrapped with sticky old tape, or spliced mid run with a mismatched color wire. Jumpers on beau plug pins wires going in circles and don't even make a powered circuit, while the original wires lay disconnected right next to the useless new ones.  no Had to take a break for a few minutes.
 Thanks again

I think it's oh 4 screws that hold the top box sides on.  It's really pretty easy.

You have to take off at least one side panel.
